Good morning from Godley Texas, as a Capri Cowboy owner I would recommend putting a rubber mat in the bed. It will help keep the camper from slipping and help protect the bottom. Nice looking set-up. Live life to the fullest. Stay safe and happy travels 😎
Great video . Very detailed and liked how you took the trouble to show the actual tie downs once camper was on the truck. You could also store stuff through those small doors into the bed . I live not far from that refuge and go there all the time .
Thank you for making this video. I purchased a Capri camper about one month ago and have been trying to muster up the courage to unload it so that I can reroute my backup camera. Your video is the best one I’ve seen on how to load/unload a Capri camper. Now that I’ve seen it, I feel much more comfortable about going ahead and doing it myself for the first time. Just subscribed.
Looks good! I keep my Retreat on full time and have never taken it off since purchase 7/2022. I have Torklift tie downs and fast guns so I have never even opened the bag off chains and eye bolts that were provided from dealer. Nice to know how they work though for sure.
Great video, I own a capri cowboy model and have only taken it off once. The jacks also weight about 50 lbs apiece, so i leave them off. Could you give a brief explanation of the battery isolation switch, when to use it and when not?
With regards to leaving the Rieco-Titan jacks on the truck while on the road and especially when boondocking, I take them off before each trip to avoid damaging the jack mounts on the camper should something hit the jack.
Good sir, thank you for this video! I've been considering a Capri Camper for a long time now and your tutorials answered a lot of questions I had - especially regarding the drain hoses and water system. Are you liking the water system compared to a traditional "Black" and/or "Gray" tank? Seems like a neat idea to keep weight down and things from freezing in colder climates. Do you have a F-350 or F-250? Any issues with space inside of the camper? We are expecting our first kiddo and wondering how comfortable a family of three could do in one (8 foot bed) if the weather gets bad. I would go walk through one myself but I am way up in Montana and hardly anyone has these here. Anyways, love all your videos and thanks again!
I much appreciate you watching! More videos about the camper to come soon so let me know if you have any requests! We actually really like not having the black/gray tanks. We have an F250. I added airbags in the rear which isn’t necessary but I do think it helps with swaying especially if it’s windy. I think you’ll be fine with one small child, because the table folds into a small bed (similar to most campers only smaller) but once that kiddo gets older (8-10 years old or so) it’s going to get tight in there.
Keep in mind ours is the Retreat Shortbed model in a 6’ (roughly) bed. Capri makes a Retreat Longbed as well and would give you some nice extra space. May I recommend you call Capri. The owner is incredibly kind and honest. Part of their business model is developing a relationship with their customers. I can tell you from experience, he truly wants you to be happy with what you choose.
Thanks again sir, you have one heck of a set up! Thanks for the video and the homestead videos. I haven't been down to OK since I went to basic training at Sill but you represent the state very well. Cheers from Montana. @@oklahomesteader
Fantastic video, nicely done, pal. Love your camper.
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip! We will do that!

Wow cool! Yeah these are stout. Capri installed them when I picked my camper up.
How often do you check the tie downs for tightness?
I usually check them each day but I have never had them loosen up at all.
Thank you sir for a great video helpful 👍
Absolutely, thanks for watching!

I will definitely do a video on that! Thanks for watching

That’s definitely a concern of mine too. But I risk it because I have no good place to store them in my rig while on the road.
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Will the tailgate close all the way with the Capri in the bed? What is the overall height from ground to top of AC?
The camper hangs over about an inch onto the tailgate so it will not shut…on my truck. The height is 10’10 on my truck.
I noticed you plugged your camper into the bumper and not the bed plug. Will it not fit the bed plug with the Capri installed?
Mine will not.
@@oklahomesteader did you install that yourself or is that the 5th wheel prep package from Ford?
@@sun_dreaming It was factory install as far as I know. I bought this truck used so I'm not 100 percent sure.
