Ha! Found my way over from IG and subscribed on the strength. Didn't even know AMG made 20"s that fit so I'm better for watching already. Def brings the lines out.

Lawrence Fearon Thank you for the love brotha! Yes indeed....I’ve own 2 different sets and styles of factory AMG 20’s. They offered them on limited models. I was happy to find this nice set. 👌🏾

That's beautiful but my all-time favorite is a cl55 you have

I just got me a cl600 I did not do nothing to it yet great time I believe it needs a timing chain but nothing I can't handle

Robert Robbins Nice. Did you get a good deal on it? What year? How do you know it needs a timing chain?

Those wheels look so nice! They are the perfect size! I would love to find a set just like them for our Sl500. I have been searching the internet high and low since I saw your video but can't seem to find those exact wheels. Do you happen to know what model and year AMG they came off of?

Thank you bro. I appreciate it. I purchased those wheels off of a guy on Craigslist. He had them on his 2003 E55. But they needed spacers on his to sit right. So those were not his original wheels. They have a high offset. I never found out what they were on originally.

I’ve done some searching. These are Zumbo aftermarket AMG wheels. Check out this link. It’s in another language. But these are the wheels. images.app.goo.gl/fz2dEQx5wb2WSEFk8
It allowed me to open it once. When I tried to go back, it required a security ‘retype the letters’ to verify I’m human. But I can’t understand the language. Also.....the same style wheel (different color) is on eBay under the Zumbo name. www.ebay.com/itm/20-MERCEDES-AMG-WHEEL-RIM-20x9-5-Zumbo-Wheel-/362453388392?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
So google ‘Zumbo wheels 5x112’ and see what you find.

The high offset made me wonder if it was made for a Mercedes suv. Quite possibly. Here’s an eBay link to a OEM set for a ML63 W164 Different color. Same wheel. OEM. www.ebay.com/itm/06-11-Mercedes-W164-ML550-ML63-AMG-Wheel-Rim-R20-10-x-20-OEM-1644015402-1-/174633258566?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
      And here’s a set for an S550.

With your experience with many sizes rims on these SL500 what size do you prefer over like with the ride? I haven't driven mine on rough roads yet. I just completed the coil overs and the car came with 16s on it and I know that isn't the correct size.

    • @goldelementautoworks

Nothing smaller than a 18”. I personally prefer 20”. But the best ride….comfort-wise and looks is a 18”. The best look for customization is a 20”.

Question in his cl600 do the fiber optic wires make it real hard to put a radio system in it

    • @goldelementautoworks
      @goldelementautoworks  4 года назад

Robert Robbins It does present a bit of difficulty. I had to tap into the rear amplifier output speaker wires, and run new speaker wires to the front aftermarket radio. The OEM radio signals to the OEM amp via fiber optic. So you have to bypass all of that stuff.

Do you know if there are some years that abc got better !! Thank you !!

sputnik I’ve been told that the next body style SL has a more reliable ABC system. A newer designed pump and valve blocks. So if you really want a better system...you’ll have to spend a bit more on the model change.

No you dont have to do any of that, just flush and teflon treat...but ill give you a better suggestion...sell it and get what you can for it, and but a sl55 amg...a man driving a sl500 or 550 is feminine, it like buying a charger and not getting a hell cat, or camero and not getting a ls1 engine or ls2, or mustang and not getting a cobra or a 5.0..

charmamillion Hahahahaha!!!!! That’s hilarious. I feel you regarding the manliness of the SL55. But I’ll be honest....those weak chargers and mustangs can’t hold a candle to a ‘basic’ 5.0 V8 SL500. These cars are power and luxury.....no different from owning a S500 or CL500. I’ve owned the S55 AMG and currently own a widebody CL55 AMG. So I understand the difference and your point. But these cars will always get respect no matter who’s in it. But..........if I do come across a SL55 at a good price...............bro. 493HP in this roadster is sick. Hope I don’t come across it......I might leave with it. 😂 Also...I tend to swap out all ABC suspensions on the Mercedes I buy. I like the piece of mind and adjustability of coilovers. No more worries. We’ll see though......

@@goldelementautoworks Gold Element Autoworks i have a sl55 amg with a 77mm super pulley, you're wrong, if you come across a mustang cobra or terminator, or a hell cat with a sl500 you will get smoked literally these cars are heavy and have you noticed the hesitation in shifting?thats why in a 500 you will lose, even in a sl550, but, for you're abc problems teflon treat it, that expands the seals and worn out rubber preventing leaks and breakdown....and if you are wanting coil then strutmasters, but to me no need to spend 1300.00 when you can fix it for around 200.00 with flush and teflon,

I wasn’t comparing the SL500 to the higher model mustangs and dodges. I’m referring to the comparison of the SL500 and slow basic V6 mustangs and garbage V6 dodges. Of course....a 307 hp Mercedes can’t see a Hellcat or Cobra. Now.....regarding Strutmaster......it’s a good basic coilover alternative. But horrible compared to an adjustable coilover setup. I went with YellowSpeed Racing coilovers for my CL55. I’ll look into the Teflon maintainable on this one. Sounds convincing. How do you like the pulley on your SL55? Do you have stock exhaust system? Any other upgrades? Man......I love AMGs. So much power, luxury, engineering and performance for a fraction of what you’d pay for a spec comparison in any other car.

@@goldelementautoworks ok cool i apologize about the misunderstanding, but i have the pully, then i focused on cooling/heat exchange which i should have done first before the pulley mod, now im broke lol, until i save a for a dyno/custome tune, but man it drives awesome, but i put the stock pullet back on because its kinda dangerouse to drive with the pully without custome tune, but saying i focused on the cooling the stock superchargerr pulley is even fun now🙊...and i teflon treated my abc 2 years no problem, btw if you plan on reselling for a sl55 or different car your value will go down, so before you do the conversion think long term, if you keeping it then rip it apart and do your thang, if not then give future owner the decision to keep abc on convert it, jmho.
