Good review, thanks. I just bought the 120v version (USA) for broken bolt and stud extraction. Yeah, display is off by a factor of 2. So just double what you need to get what you want. Still very small and light. Easy to carry on field work. :-)

My same experience. If the unit claims to be 200 amps, it is most likely around 100 amps, which is still useful for a lot of around the home jobs.

@@tdivison Lol. Same here. I bought a 225 amp havadou from a pawn shop I spotted it in so i grab it for 45 bucks. I knew there was no way it could reach 225 amps on a 120 breaker but it's still a little beast that can run 1/8 6010 rods which surprised me and definitely 3/32 7018 all day.

Make sure your welding rods are dry, If in doubt leave them on a hot radiator to dry out, bag them with silica gel and keep dry in the house. Nothing worse than cold damp rods

Dony touch the stick to the steel, hover very close to it and let the arc jump the gap, nearly kissing the steel but not quite

the display reading is alwaysdoubled for chinese machine! you can adjust it internall, 105A is around 50A, 250A is around 125A . i suspect the importer should calibrate the display themselves for their country's power

It is thin steel. Easy to burn though. I'm not a fan of it either, but as long as it is strong enough for the application. This welder is hard to use at low amps.
