I hope you got back into it in this years time and don't think you are too old. I started back when I was 29 and I am here to say it really will bring your youth back. Just do some stretching and strength training, you know the things that all the other athletes do for their sports. Also, I skate with people that are in their 40's and they can do tricks I cant. I hope you decided to skate again.
I feel you. I couldn't skate anymore through injury and it sucks. Put my heart and fucking soul into it for ten years. I still follow it though. Love to see how much it's progressed since I was skating. How clean everything is now. Just crispy

One of the weakest points in rollerblading is that "style" is too damn important to make this sport look nice. By style I'm talking about the way you skate, not the way you dress. Sadly, it seems that having a nice style is a pretty hard thing to get and most people despite how good they skate, if they have an ugly style, they just don't make skating look nice and kill the image of the sport. Thank god we have people like Franky Morales, that makes you drool on how nice this sport can look...hopefully most people will give more importance to the style someday and work more on it to help this sport get a better image among other sport crowds and even ourselves as rollerblading enthusiasts.
No I don't think you can have a bad style. This isnt skateboarding we don't have all these prejudices. You can't have a bad style you can just be uncool overall, in which case people see the helmet and the other safety gear. Sort of like that wacko on Back to Blading who's talking about how he has 2 kids so needs all these helmets n stuff, then you see him skate and it's slower than walking speed and it's like what do you think is gonna happen at those speeds? He looks like a child molester hanging out at the skateparke looking for young boys. I think your talk makes people not want to get involved cos they feel like they are gonna get judged when they wont. This isnt skateboarding. Thats what I like about this, if you wanna do tricks you can and if you don't wanna do tricks thats cool too. Just watched the girls they are not great at tricks but they bombed these hills n it was badass. You wouldn't bomb that. Injurys is a lot worse than falling off a rail, that asian skateboarder fractured her skull n was like in a coma or something, San Francisco hill bomb.
