You should do a before and after cleaning/detailing video. Also be good to see usual coilovers, wheels, exhaust even bodykit?Depends how far you wanna go with it as obviously your looking for an r32 😍 Would love to see more mk6 stuff too!
That noise will be the dual-mass flywheel, had a similar issue on my Fabia vRS. Replaced the clutch and flywheel, converted to a single-mass flywheel setup.
@Ben Schofield: Thats exactly what I just mentioned in my other comment. On my Astra SRI/CDTI/Xpack I put a Solid-Mass Clutch Kit in..Had to wear it in and that..but then it never bothered me after that....
I like premiere format gives me something to look forward to. As for the passat I like your idea of the honeycomb but I think you should dechrome or replace that grill trim aswell i personally don't like the look of it.
I have a few led on my tail light burned, what I did is that I made the rear fog light act as a Break light too, Id still can function as a fog light though, I believe its in the long coding, under Central Electronic/Use rear for light as Break light section, It has percentages too, I set it to 5% while not breaking, and when breaking it fully lights up like the rest of the break light, I like it!
You will either love and hate this car. Don't be scared. First I would check condition of parking brake motor as they tend to split and also don't forget of oil pump balance shaft as it might seize the engine. What's mileage and engine code?
Avoid BXE 1.9 tdis. Had one and it threw a rod at 120k because the bearing shells cracked and the road ended up through the side wall of the block. My 07 plate B6 2.0 on the other hand has been rock solid apart form a clutch and flywheel replacement at 100k had the car nearly 5 years now and it only cost me £1650.00
it could be the auto pulley on the alternator. i have the exact same car and i thought it was the clutch but it was the 'clutch' on the alternator pulley. its a weird thing I didnt even know about before but its on these cars with the 2.0 tdi engine. I replaced the alternator pulley and noise was gone. its a very common thing though. worth checking it first before the clutch.
Get some cheap JOM blueline coilovers and drop it by like 50mm, also get the RCD330 stereo which is basically a replica of the unit from newer models with apple carplay and android auto.
Defo dual mass flywheel on it's way. Replace flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder in one go. Common on all diesels and can go at any point in its lifetime.
Swap over the spark plugs en swap the coil packs around on the ed35 if the misfire changes when you read codes then you have to replace the spark plug because you already tested the coilpack
That noise isnt the clutch, it's the release bearing. Not worth changing it yet. The clutch its self isnt too bad as far as cost, it's the flywheel that is expensive.
I concur, I have an 07 plate B6 passat estate. Mine made exactly the same noise at 100k. Needed a, new DM and clutch kit. Best to do the clutch at the same time.
Not gonna lie mate - I am a tad dissapointed seeing you going from the golf to a passat, a family car. I just don't see it working out for the style I had planted in my head, that you were going for. Not saying, you probably enjoy your car - you go ahead and do that! But honestly, I think (in my opinion) you went from "full send" to "family car" - and it's a diesel :( Still gonna follow the journey - things I want to see is coilovers, and 18inch wheels, loud exhaust and some nice interior upgrades :-)
I've been though the mad send stage, I'm over having the "fastest" car... Like I've said, the passat isn't my full time project car. I'm using it for work and to save money for a moment, but I am liking it a lot more then I thought I would. Its comfy to drive and it's nice not having mates moaning about the small space or ride quality. It's just a bit more boring for the mean time, but I'm happy with it 👍
Dont leave your amber lights on 100% they will melt. Up to 40% is safe. Mine has been on 40% for over a year no issues. For grills check out the r-line grill. You can program your doors to auto lock when youre driving and program your headlights to come on when you unlock the car

The CR-Engine..i.e. "Central Rail System" sound miles better..like a petrol in fact. They came in around the time of the MK6 Gt/GTD's....10:09 That MK6 ED:30..now thats a car!!:)....
On the mk6 check for an air leak in the hoses especially the braided one that goes to the brake booster to the engine on the right side in between the battery.

I did a clutch and flywheel on my E46 320D, I took it all off painstakingly thinking I just needed a bearing, easy £40 part and a day or so of my time, ended up being 3 weeks on the ramp, a snapped exhaust stud, wrong replacement seals, a rattly dual mass flywheel and a fucked rear main seal, all in all on trade it cost me £300 but the retail was £1200 for the lot, at the stage yours is on it's nothing to worry about, but it shouldn't be nearly as much a ballache as mine was

Turn the percentage down on the indicator lights to 20-30%. It can melt the bulb holders at 100%
