Miracles in December will always be my favorite song from EXO Story plot of the music video (the lyrics would explain more) : the members prepared presents for their loved ones (their partners) on Christmas, but they got broken up with instead (could see from Tao's superpower which is time: after he turned back time, a pair of feet was walking towards Sehun, so that actually meant the girl left Sehun) and they're pretty devastated and expressed their emotions and apologies and how much they missed their loved ones in this song
Even you dont' understand korean you can understand the feelings that they are transmiting during the video, their expression, the intention of the song. Because of that I ended with teary eyes everytime I saw the mv. But the way lyrics are so so so sad, full of regrets and asking about turn back time. "Miracles In December" actually features the 4 main vocalists in EXO. If you haven't yet, you should check out the Mandarin version as well. If you have never heard the Mandarin version, then you are missing out on hearing Luhan's beautiful voice also. :D In the EXO-M version of "Miracles in December" you will see that Luhan sings instead of D.O. Luhan was one of the main vocalists in EXO-M. Chen and Luhan are both EXO-M members so they sang the Mandarin songs, and to round out the vocals Baekhyun subbed in as an EXO-M member. :D Now to explain what is happening in the story in the MV. As you noticed, Xiumin was the one that made it snow. Xiumin has the power to control ice/frost/snow, so anytime something has to do with these weather elements they will focus on him. In the MV you see Xiumin with the lapel pin that is shaped like EXO's album logo. He steps outside and looks up at the sky and at that moment his pin shimmers and it begins to snow. It is thought that the members' powers are tied to their emotions, so when Xiumin is sad or melancholy, he almost can't help it, and he will make it snow. Next, as you also noticed, we see Tao stop time. Tao has the power of time control, so he is the one that turned back time and then instantly brought time back to the present again. The snow was falling in reverse at one point because Tao was rewinding time. Then you see everything pause for a second and the snow starts falling down again when he brings everything back to the present. There also was an eclipse. Eclipses affect the members' powers and it is also where they gather strength, etc. So, you will see them focus on an eclipse or something to do with the moon and sun, or other planetary phenomenon, in a lot of EXO's storyline. This even happens in live performances. You will see instances of them using their powers to control things that happen on stage during live concert performances. Suho makes it rain on stage, Xiumin will make it snow, Chanyeol will control fire, Chen will control the thunder and lightning, Baekhyun often makes the lights go on and off, etc. If you keep this all in mind when you watch any of their MVs or live performances, it's kind of fun to search for the instances where they are using their powers. In some MVs and songs the members use their powers more than others, but at least one member will use their powers in almost everything they do, it just might be more subtle sometimes than others. So, this is just another element of EXO's performances that make watching them unique. I think of "Miracles in December" as a kind of breakup song that is about how the holidays makes you nostalgic for that loved one that you are no longer with. It makes you remember all the good times and makes you wish you were together even though you know, deep down, you are better off now that you have broken up. As I see it, all the gifts are supposed to be what they would have given to their girlfriends if they hadn't broken up before the holidays. I interpret the story as, "she" was a different girl for each of the members, and "she" was not meeting any of them, she was a memory of a past relationship that was no more. That's why Tao turns back time for a moment to relive being in the relationship, but then quickly returns to the present because he knows, deep down, he is better off and that you really can't go back in time and expect to fix everything in the relationship. That's why they are all sad and crying because they are heartbroken. I like to think, for example, that the puppy was probably going to be a present for Kai's girlfriend, but now that they have broken up, it just reminds him of her. It's kind of a bittersweet memory. :D The "miracle" is that the girl had such a profound impact on their life that, even though they aren't together anymore, she will always play a big role in his life history, etc. The "miracle" is that the holidays give you a reason to look back and reflect on those special moments in life, and even though the memories might make them sad because they are no longer able to make new memories together, the old memories are still there. And the "miracle" is that he has now realized she has taught him so much about love and life, but unfortunately, he has realized it too late and he can't go back, so he is sad. He's now upset because he is unable to show her the appreciation she deserves, etc., etc. And, if you like the studio version of "Miracles in December," just wait until you see them perform this song live in concert. Watching those old clips of the Killing voice songs I realize the huge improvement in Chen's vocals and even his Korean diction as he sings it blows my mind tbh The way they deliver their lines play a huge role in how good the song sounds overall I never really paid attention to it until recently... the Killing voice video is a treasure for real

He's an underrated actor tbh. He showed his acting skills from early on like KyungSoo. 7:21 nope they didn't went back in time but just revived that moment until time resumed at its usual pace, bringing them back to where reality as they realize how their mistakes individually cost them to lose someone they love. As the lyrics suggest, they had a history with this person, had some good times too...but because the boys were not as attentive to their girls in their lives, being self-absorbed to a fault and relying on the girl to just wait for them.. it proved too much for the girl, as she chose to move on. Tips for the future: if it says Korean Ver. It literally means Korean Ver, the Korean Verison of the song. Same with Chinese Ver. Any members can be singing the song, its just in that specifically listed language. 'The War' album was released entirely in chinese and there were no chinese members in it. Lay wasn't promoting with EXO, so it was just the korean members but they sung in chinese. In the early days ofcourse they were seperated by group. If it's listed as EXO-K/EXO-M its specifically only those group members performing. But you will hardly see that anymore. That period only lasted about 2 years honestly.

I don't think it is. I think that's a misconception that has spread because it looks like Monggu. Kai had already had all three of his dogs before this MV was filmed. You see all three far more grown in the EXO Showtime episode they appear in which was filmed around the time this mv was.

'The War' album was released entirely in chinese and there were no chinese members in it. Lay wasn't promoting with EXO, so it was just the korean members but they sung in chinese.
In the early days ofcourse they were seperated by group. If it's listed as EXO-K/EXO-M its specifically only those group members performing. But you will hardly see that anymore. That period only lasted about 2 years honestly.

I don't think it is. I think that's a misconception that has spread because it looks like Monggu. Kai had already had all three of his dogs before this MV was filmed. You see all three far more grown in the EXO Showtime episode they appear in which was filmed around the time this mv was.
