    I did a did a carb job on my ss900 weber it was simple Step one : take off the carb and manifolds. Step two : install set of Mikuni carbs off a later moldel 900ss Step 3 : enjoy better performance better economy and less issues guaranteed by Weber. I was over all the problems with the Weber but I did keep it if someone in the future wanted it back on when I sold the bike. The difference in power delivery and economy were amazing. You do have to replace the air box I ended up making one as I didnt want to destroy the factory unit and note the Mikunis will not function with no air box. I did this in the early 90s and it was expensive then but now it seems Ducati parts are quite cheap.

    Just scored a full OEM Paso last month. How often have you had to rebuild the carbs lol

      Hey thanks for watching, and sorry for taking so long to reply! If you are running the bike often you almost never have to rebuild the carbs. The real problem is when stuff sits for a long time. If you have not cleaned them out yourself and you have fueling issues the carb is the first place I would look. Lots of tiny holes to get clogged easily.

      @@TDKRepair Probably late to the party, but...
      I bought my Paso 28 years ago, when I was still young and stupid, and (of course) I thought it was "much faster" with a K&N filter and open airbox. It wasn't...
      Despite back then still pure gasoline (no ethanol) the bike ran but never had a really nice throttle response. No amount of carb cleaning, float height adjustment or mixture adjusting helped, it was notchy just off idle and roundabouts required two fingers on the clutch and the right foot dragging on the rear brake.
      The bike has been rarely used the last 15 years and completely sitting unused for the last 3, and when I decided to revive it, I also redid the air intake to original paper filter, and complete original airbox + intake trunks.
      No rebuild-kit used though, still original "everything" (pumpmembrane, O-rings, gaskets etc etc)
      Despite currently having fuel with 10% ethanol, throttle response is smooth as silk, can't remember the carburation ever having been this good, and roundabouts are a hoot now...
      Still has the tyoical Paso quirks like hesitation if the throttle is opened too fast (acc. pump delivering its fuel too quick). Other than that flawless.
      I guess what I am saying is, I think the original filter, velocity stack and airbox are just as much part of the tuning and set-up as the carb itself, and I don't think any of these aftermarket filters are any improvement...
      However, and that amazed me a bit, my mixture screws are 7~7,5 turns out (and no, it does not smoke and still needs the choke, albeit only 5~10 seconds, consumption still 1 litre to 20~21 km, like it did when I first bought it). Checked for cleanliness, but no dirt there. Bit puzzling...
      I do use Putoline E10 fuel fighter. It does run just that tiny bit cleaner with it and it is cheaper than the price difference for ethano free fuel (which on top of being more expensive, also is fairly hard to find over here).
