For apogeotropic, how do you know which procedure to do? Or how do you know it is more on the utricular side or canal side? I ask because if it is on the canal side, would it have been considered canalothiasis?
Fantastic video so informative! I have managed to figure out that the loose crystals are in my left horizontal canal. The only thing is I'm not sure which maneuver to use to fix it with. I can turn my head left, right, look up and doesn't cause any issues only when I look down and bend forward I do have vertigo. Could you please advise which Gufoni maneuver to use/try I don't have access to a clinic. Thank you so much in advance.
It has been 8 months and 2 different physical therapists and I still suffer every day! I have given up hope, he doesn't do this the exact same way. Where are you located? I am ready to try anything, cannot live this way! Desperate!!
We are located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. It’s important that your healthcare professional examines the origin of your vertigo and whether it’s actual BPPV. There are several maneuvers for the different inner ear canals.
Hi, i have a problem in the lateral canal of the right ear, and in posterior canal of left ear. I have been with this bppv since 2012. And no physician or dr. Could resolve it, could you help me please with suitable exercise s.
Hang in there! Ive been going through this as well for the past year with ups and downs... i hope that you have fixed ur problem cause i see this comment is from 9 months ago... hope u have fixed it and u are well now! I am still suffering from this looking for a cure and I've actually booked an appointment now with those guys i hope they can help me✌
Excellent video! Really enjoying your channel :) Just wondering what the main difference is between the gufoni and BBQ maneuver's? Both seem to treat the lateral canal... Does one have stronger evidence for success over the other?
Hello, thanks a lot for this super videos. For me, it ia not clear how we can know which of the both maneuver is to do with ageotrophic nystagmus, even after looking the videofor Supine Roll Test.
It's been 4 years I am having bppv which actually triggers while sleeping and changing sides. M just 24 year old ..not even started my career and this thing happens and just traumatize me for days. Recently it went away for atleast 1 year, then today it again happened. Please help me .
@@jdssurf The thing is whenever it happens either its too difficult for me to cope up with it so i consume some meds and most of the time no1 is available with me who can take me to doctor immediately
@@ItsOkaySandy what meds? Your going to need to learn to test for it and try the maneuvers. However if I were you, I would get with an ENT, or vestibular doctor and get that ball rolling. Look into the brandt dardoff exercise, i do each position for 1 full minute though........but you can try that exercise for 10 minutes a few times a week.........it can be precautionary, snd or let you know you got a little somethin goin on, and if so, get your ass to a doctor that deals with it, before you have a bad spell
@@jdssurf see whenever it happens it makes me bed ridden for 5-6 days ...bt when i dont have it ...its like i do workouts i play and everything ...it dont hinder in anything and whenever its about to happen ...it mostly starts when im sleeping air about to go to sleep
@@ItsOkaySandy yeah but lying in bed for days does nothing for it……..I did that too, as shitty as it is, you have to do the maneuvers to get the crystals moving. Or else your just lying there, and they are too, giving you the finger. They may dissolve or something over time. You don’t have time for that. Take something legit for nausea then wait an hour, the do the dix halpike test on the left, then repeat on the right. Decide which side made you spin. Then research what maneuver you need to try. You will only spin for about 45 seconds then it slowly stops. Do not just lay around for days. Get proactive……and also get with a vestibular doctor knowledgeable in BPPV……it’s super common now. Call your doctors and or other ppls, and demand to know who specializes in BPPV in your area. I’m doing that again now too.
Thank you so much for this video with a wonderful demonstration.

BBQ is typically used to treat horizontal canal canalithiasis, while Gufoni is effective for cupulolithiasis!
Can't we do all three takin 15 min gap ?
When the patient has this type of BPPV, does she/he have symptoms in between bouts of it, or is the person asymptomatic?
is lateral canal trouble manifest by head moving left and right? as nodding No.
That could indeed provoke the dizziness
Hello sir i have also same problem ,but i dont know in which side is it right or left ,kindly let me know how can i guess it ..plzz reply
Better to consult a local physio specialized in dizziness to assess your nystagmus
Hi,
How can we know if the debri is on utricular side or cannal side before performing the maneuver?
Or do we perform both type on same patient?
Have a look at our video on the Supine Head Roll test
