Punta Mita | St. Regis vs. Four Seasons

We went to Punta Mita, Mexico, just outside Puerto Vallarta, and visited both the St. Regis Punta Mita and Four Seasons Punta Mita resorts! Here are our thoughts on both - including room tours, spa visits, restaurants, and beach/pool areas.

I've been to both of these properties. They are both amazing. The Four Seasons is a bit more upscale (imo). Punta Mita is a beautiful place off the usual tourist locations.

I stayed at the Four Seasons in 2007. It was wonderful then, but I am pretty sure it didn't have the lazy river at that time, which I am sure is so nice. I know the town has grown since then and more people go there now. When I was there, my friend and I were on beach all by ourselves with two people tending to our every need (towels, sun screen, food, etc). And the whales were right in front of us in the ocean. It was pretty amazing. And the cleaning staff?I still laugh as we never ever saw them! They were perfection.

How was the weather in September?

The weather was great for our trip! We were able to get in the water (both pool and beach) basically every day. There was a brief rain shower one morning but otherwise beautiful!
Of course, check the weather before your own trip, but September is definitely still beach season there.
