- On April 17th, 2024 the city of Bucyrus, Ohio was caught by surprise when an EF1 (which missed an EF2 rating by one mile per hour) quick spin-up tornado struck the town. With Bucyrus being far from the nearest radar sites, and with the tornado buried in precipitation, a warning wasn't issued in time.
Frank was chasing the actual warned area of rotation in the southern portion of the county when this occurred. All while his family was at home with the tornado heading in their direction.
Special thanks to Castle Auctions and Appraisals, as well as Kim Gasuras for her great reporting for the Telegraph Forum!
Music was created using Udio AI (artificial intelligence), voiceover by Eleven Labs' artificial intelligence voice "Tony". Thanks for your great work, Tony! 😆 - Наука
Chills! Great job capturing what we were all feeling that day! Over 2 decades of saying, "Bucyrus doesn't get tornadoes." 🥺
I appreciate it!
Thank you for using parts of my article and photo!! Excellent video!
No thank you for your great reporting! I added your name to the description for credit!
Was that your photo of the inside of the Family Dollar?
@@BuckeyeProductions you did not have to do that but thank you very much. Again, it’s a very well put together video that I think sums up the damage really well.
Thanks David Frank!
I was in that tornado when it hit my apartment and the family dollar. I knew the day was to come eventually this year as the weather patterns in the last 4 week threaten bucyrus not 1 but 4 different tornadoes. But one to form without radar picking up is concerning.
Glad you're ok!
I felt my house shake a little for 15-20 seconds then the sirens went off after it was over. My son was at his friend's and watched a wooden fence get pulled out of the ground and fly straight at him. Thankfully he dropped to the ground before it hit him. I'll never say again bucyrus won't get hit by a tornado again. I'm glad everyone is OK.
Glad everyone is OK! Tornadoes can happen nearly anywhere.
They felt the same way in Joplin, Missouri because of their terrain before their infamous EF-5.
@@BuckeyeProductionsOfficial Joplin tornado was the worst I've ever seen. I'm thankful ours wasn't worse than what we had.
@alicialawhun91 El Reno scares the hell out of me with it's awkward movement and violence. That's the one that killed the Twistex crew unfortunately. The absolute upper echelon of chasing. Caught a lot of chasers off guard.
