Thanks Linda- another adventure on the roads of the North. I probably drove along this route between Kilpisjarvi and Tromso 40 years ago to work at the hospital in Tromso!! The roads certainly look much better now than they were then! Absolutely love these videos of yours ! Thank you so much for showing them to us.
This is one area I wish to explore outside of Tromsø. Besides Kilpisjarvi, I would like to pay homage and respect to the Sami People in Kautokeinø and Karasjok for their culture, history, and the important role they played in WWII. Thanks for sharing another beautiful drive.
I love Kilpisjärvi, it's such a nice little village with interesting surroundings to explore. I prefer visiting in the fall, as there's still a lot of snow in the spring and a massive number of mosquitos in the summer...
@@LindaOnTheRoad I have always enjoyed hiking in the Fall. The Saana mountain has long intrigued me; thanks to your video I found the trail head on GoogleEarth. One to try. Thanks again for sharing.
Hi! Last weekend a friend lent me a book "In Search of the Drum" written by a Saami. Though fiction, it is an account of life in Kilpisjarvi and the significance of Saana mountain to the Saami. Viewing this video again and seeing the mountain in full light gave me a visual look at the mountain calling me. Thanks again for sharing.
I've been all over northern Finland, before covid I went there on road trips all the time😊I even did field work for my master's thesis in Inari 😊 I was planning a trip to Muonio this summer, but sadly had to cancel. Hopefully next year!
Hello! I have been watching your videos for a while do you need special tyre ? more than winter tyres to drive around? like studded tyres? or is winter tyre enough? thank yoU!
The border patrol doesn't like it when people get too close. I've been hiking in the woods in Finland near the Russian border before, and there are lots of warning signs saying not to get any closer. It's probably a good idea to listen 😅 I've been to Russia several times though, but under different circumstances.
Beautiful scenery and very nice music

Indeed, the roads in the area are quite well maintained these days 😊

Winter tyres made for Nordic conditions (such as Hakkapeliitta) is usually fine, but I prefer studded tyres so that's what I use.
waiting for new videos.....how are you?😄😃😀....we miss you and Norway🤗 .....your Instagram??

I'm definitely staying far far away from the Russian border 😅
