Thank you, Suzanne! I've been trying to find something that would show me the different ways to hold the yarn to achieve these double-knitted results. This fits the bill exactly, and now I can practice to see what works best for me.

I agree with Scott. The light is great. Thanks for your help with double knitting. Your recommendation to knit fairly tight has helped my tension, and I liked the way you trapped the yarn prior to proceeding to the garter stitches. That keeps everything neat and under control.

Thank you very much! I've been having trouble figuring out tensioning for double knitting and one of the holds you were using finally made it click for my hands.

Suzanne, the lighting is fantastic! I also love your camera setup... we can really see up close and that is so helpful. Too often knitting videos on RUclips are not clear, or not close enough to see the details that really make the difference in learning a technique. I always look forward to your videos, and watch them almost as soon as I see you've posted them.

Thanks for the feedback Scott. It is invaluable to me. I look forward to meeting you at Stitches, right? Happy knitting.

Absolutely! I always look forward to Stitches. One of these years I'll actually take classes (I couldn't this year as my boss is at a conference that week as well so I could only take the Friday off).

I'm sorry, but I'm confused. I'm trying to learn your first method of using only one color at a time. I understood until you pretended you were at the end of the row. I don't know what you were doing when you put the stitches back on. You said work to the end of the row with the white. Then I wouldn't be able to pick up the green, since it's on the other side of the work. Am I correct in assuming that each color must be worked in two passes -- to the end of the row AND BACK? And then the other color to the end of the row and back? For a total of 4 passes for one row?
This method will really help me from getting the yarns confused, since I will be using the same color for both sides.
Thanks, Suzanne, you are helping me understand the intricacies of knitting much better!!

Here is another video on how to work the edge without the white border - see if this helps, if not, come back and ask more. I will answer. ruclips.net/video/gDEdEFNC6B8/видео.html

I would like to know which method works for you best?
When I firsted watched this video I thought I would go with one color each, like in brioche. Then I tried some color changes and I got confused which sts have already been knitted and which not.
I will try this again as I think as long as you concentrate it should work out fine. It is always *k1 or p1 and slip 1 sts*. Shouldn't be too difficult after 2 cups of coffee?

i prefer to hold both yarns in one hand, since they will be pulling through at the same rate. And I use both across the row. You will get it. Double knitting, although it looks simple enough, in my opinion, is the most difficult of all knitting skills to learn. it fools you. Thank you and happy knitting.

Thank you! Best video I’ve seen for holding yarn when double knitting. But still no one says if it’s a problem if the yarns cross. Like if using two hands I’m working along then say purl color changes and it seems my yarns get crossed and I don’t know if it’s a problem and if so what to do about it.

    • @SuzanneBryan
      @SuzanneBryan  10 месяцев назад

      The yarn should never cross.

Both colors should be in the front when purling and both yarns should be in the back when knitting.

@@SuzanneBryan I use the larger one and I put it over my knuckle, or right above it. The smaller one fits at my first knuckle. They are a bit springy and I push a bit to get it on kinda tight.
I hope you find this information helpful!
      Happy knitting!
