Hey, i followed the video till the point in the installation the Setup requieres a Root passwort... first i thought i schould make a new passwort up, but it seems like you need to type in a passwort of some account or something could somebody please tell me how or where i can create a root passwort or account with passwort to install the programm... ?
can I use this same method to use it in vs code?
It is not accepting my 3306 port in 3:12

Not a single video has done a simple job of explaining throughly the installation process of MySQL as much as this video. Thank you so much, I literally spent 3 hours trying to connect to local server and didnt know i needed to download external packages. Thank you so much, this was much needed!
For those of you who could not configure server during installation, just re-run installer, and from pop-up click Reconfigure.

THIS. THANK YOU. I'm taking a class right now and the instructions for set up are essentially, "just install it". This is such a basic ass step that for some reason was just omitted from the setup process and like NO ONE mentions it.

If anybody, like me, had problems with no configuration page it's because of existing paths. Delete folders of all previous attempts at installing MySQL and it works.

Now, on to that outstanding 60 Minute Crash Course. I watched it before doing this and understood Aggregator functions and Inner Joins [Outer, Left, and Right Joins] for the first time.

Well done "Web Dev Simplified". I had previously had a complete installation which fell over after a while. This is a much simpler, cleaner and quicker installation.
Can you update the process of installing on Windows. MySQL installer completely changed, and I can't seem to get the workbench.

Thank you for the walk through. When I click fested my way through it, the server didn't get installed but the workbench did. Naturally, the workbench didn't read much from that blank book.

Hello, anyone that's struggling to try to add the correct installers Kyle wants us to grab. Just click the "=>" first arrow pointing that way and it'll add the highlighted installer over to the other box. I hope this helps anyone just learning SQL like myself. 😃

It all looks quite different now. The installer isn't the same. MySQL workbench did not open up after installation.
Solved: Downloaded 8.0.36 installer, from which I installed 8.0.13, the version you're using here
