This video is great. No unnecessary jibber jabber or lame attempts at humor, great camera angles, and perfect editing..... My only complaint isn't with the video, but with Toyota's blatant profiteering at the expense of Tacoma owners. Toyota lists these for $129 on their website (I know they're available for $70 or so elsewhere, but still!) This is no more than $4 worth of plastic. It should be included, especially on the TRD Pro and Offroad. And how about the $65 tailgate letter inserts? The stock design looks bad on all but the black color. But they have the solution! As long as your wallet opens wide. I'm coming from years of Honda ownership. While they sell plenty of OEM accessories too, they are mostly gravy, not integral parts. They are, like Toyota's, wildly overpriced.
Unfortunately, when it comes to the Tacoma, Toyota has a tight grip on the market and can charge whatever they want for it and its accessories. Hopefully, that changes as there's a lot of competition in the truck market now.
When I tried to just screw directly into the plug with the screws provided I just could not get it to be secure. I could just pull it straight out with my hands. Not sure how to fix this... I was thinking about maybe getting a plug that would fit to pop in over it?
How can you screw directly into that existing plastic cap without ruining it? In case anyone else questions that, you’re screwing into the plastic insert. I found that while the bolt head is 10mm the screw is a 6.32mm x 30mm (1-1/4”) and were $.99 at my local HW store.
@@HaiTran I thought you were screwing onto the headed cap, I misunderstood you initially until I tried it myself. Thank you so much for responding to me and thank you so much for the great video. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Does this mud flaps only works when the Tacoma has factory installed fender flares or do they work when the Tacoma DOESN'T have fender flares (like mine)?
I can’t say for certain but I’m pretty sure the mounting holes go to the body. I’m also pretty sure that the applicable vehicle list is pretty encompassing and lists quite a few different Tacomas that the flaps fit, not trim specific.
Was wondering how much they stick out in a means of preventing dirt and mud from flying up on a truck that has offset wheels? It’s only -24 mm, but now dirt is more easily thrown on to my truck? Thanks
I only had them for a short time so can’t really say but something is better than nothing. If you’re really worried you may want to look into these other mud flaps as they come in different sizes to accommodate for larger tires. ruclips.net/video/XeRPxPDaSAc/видео.html
They are great for the stock tire size and for the paint lol. If you ever upgrade the tire size (example: 265/75/16) then you'll rub up against the mud guard unfortunately.
question i had a problem when ins when installing my mud guards on my toyota tacoma access cab long bed, there was a plastic piece on the bottom of the bed that would get into the way of moulding of the mud guards and as a result i had to take then off to be able to get the mud guards on. Do you think that the bottom plastic piece is something important to leave on as it looks rather odd to me without it.
I have low hopes of getting a satisfactory resolution. Besides, the stuff that I add is easily removable so no sweat. Also, this is a business truck. Work goes on.

Excellent video! Great demonstration, very clear and concise.
Thank you!
Congratulations on your new ride. I just got mine last month w/out the flaps. Will be installing this week end.
Thanks a lot! Hope the mud flaps work out for you 👍🏽
Thanks for the video. Little tips help, ie. screw bolt right onto grommet plug. 👍
Glad I could help 👍🏽

Glad it helped!
I didn't get any additional screws with my chinese knockoffs. At 2:48, they supplied this screw and it goes into the plug ?
Yes

As far as I know, that shouldn’t be happening but you do what you have to do.
Thanks for the simple, yet informative vid, I just installed mine on my 2020 SPORT 👍🏼
Hope they last you a long time!

I’m not sure what you’re talking about. There are dedicated mounting locating a from the factory.

Will they not work on a 21 off-road?
Check with the listed manufacturer covered years. It’s likely updated.

I’m not sure what piece you’re referring to. If you have Instagram, DM me there with a picture and I’ll be able to better answer your question.
ok i have sent pictures on instagram
@@greatdree8741 Did your question ever get answered? I am having a similar problem.
Do you know of any longer than these? My truck is getting beat by rock underneath with the oem ones
Check these mud flaps out, they come in a few different sizes. ruclips.net/video/u94VTZGuKMo/видео.html

Does this fit the 2020 Tacoma SR?
It should fit all third gens.
Hai Tran hey so my truck doesn’t have that bottom screw. Will that be an issue?
I can't answer that as I didn't have that issue.
Do they work on the tacoma 2020 sr5? thanks
They should work on all trims of the same generation.
song name?
I don't remember. This was recorded awhile ago.
I took mine off
Whatever works 👍🏽
Why are you modify it if you don’t like it?
I have low hopes of getting a satisfactory resolution. Besides, the stuff that I add is easily removable so no sweat. Also, this is a business truck. Work goes on.
Hai Tran hopefully you settle something with them!
Hopefully! But life also goes on. I can’t dwell on this for months and let the truck sit.
