Well, right now Portuguese seems to have risen 300% in popularity so it might be a good idea/ strike while the iron is hot.

I think Portuguese was put back on the critical language list of various governments, too.

Thats for two reasons. One it happens because its near another word , the other its because E is not the tonic syllable, in this case CO is the tonic syllable in Escola and TO is the tonic syllable in Estojo and for that sometimes it sounds omitted.

in french and in English "scissors" is always plural. What about tesoura? Would it be A tesoura or as tesouras (even if their is only one)?
