Why is it “surprising” that a dual screen device is thinner than a MacBook Pro? Look at the MacBooks lid… if the MacBook did away with a keyboard it would probably be quite a bit thinner than it already is.
As a Mac user, that Lenovo computer is hella cool. That's actually exactly the computer I wanted 20 years ago when I was a kid. I remember my sister had a computer kinda similar where the display could spin and fold down so you could write on it. That laptop was ahead of its time.

Excellent video. Apple MacBooks engineering and build quality are excellent, but what the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i highlights, is MacBook UI is beginning to feel legacy. Imagine a MacBook Pro with dual touch screesn, but with the underlying performance and power efficiency of Apple silicon. It would be an amazing tool for video content creators, music producers and coders. There are even some use cases for gamers. Apple needs to wake up and smell the coffee. Our kids are growing up with touch screen Chromebooks and Tablets, and they will increasing expect computers in their working life to have touch displays with flexible UI setups to support their varied workflows.
You hit the nail on the head with your ending sentence! My 9 year old asks why my laptop screen isn't touchscreen lol! The new generations will absolutely have increasingly higher expectations, and apple can offer so much more- especially considering the cost compared to competitors.

I still believe, it would not be that comfortable, as 16+32" displays, but still a great option on-the-go. And what are the downsides (for an average user and an IT professional as a designer, for example: a. less battery life, but seems to be enough for a day; b. less computing power, but seems to be enough for all of my purposes, really. Even the pro-related stuff: c. sound is not that great, but seems to be ok for an occasional call. Still using a BT headset all the time, even in the office. I've been using a 2-in-1 laptop as my daily driver for 3 years now. I will never go back to the traditional laptop form. There are so many times when you just want to look and navigate with a swipe. Getting that keyboard and trackpad out of the way is fantastic. As a musician, having two side-by-side 2.8K screens would mean I'd never have to use a paper score ever again. It's a folio-sized book at that point.
As a professional who is always on the move finally can have a laptop with dual screens. Carrying a separate monitor with all the cables takes space, weight in your backpack and cables do break down, and all this it’s annoying and trying after a while. 0:01 Traditional laptops will never die, once you actually understand that enterprise industry exists and that Apple is literally a dog in that space. You’ll understand that windows PC and laptop will never go away. I’m a network infrastructure engineer, and our and the majority of every successful businesses estate is primarily Windows, why’s? try adding macOS to Azure AD, Most of the features and things that relate to PROPER WORK not bullshit video editing and marketing but more enterprise workloads, all done with windows, or something that will require Azure joined machines. Now you can add Apple devices but they’re a pain in the ass. MacBooks are good, very good I even have an M1 16” MBP, I love it, would I ever use it for actual functional work? Fuck no.
The Lenovo did compromise on performance even though it seems to be made for creatives but yet it lacks the dedicated horsepower to perform as such. And that's the only one thing that's put me off from getting this laptop, I hope in the next iteration they increase the performance with a top end CPU and a dedicated GPU, the price increase as expected and as it should but these missing features is what it needs to be the one to be all, do all laptop. I hope, really really hope, they increase its capabilities performance internally, externally it's perfect.
I think for most of the people would be really hard to get use to. If they would have add a type of 3D Touch like the iPhone where you receive a feedback like if you are pressing the keys in real life, it would have been amazing.
Apparently this laptop does in fact have haptic feedback on the screen keyboard and the click buttons for the trackpad! He probably didn't have it activated in this video.

I don't understand why this video compares Yoga Book with 14" workstation and not M2 MacBook Air, that said, dual-screen really does seem more like a gimmick, but it would be interesting to see some kind of "tube-dock" to join/mount two iPads and use them similar ways - maybe that's something Apple could think about?
I'm missing this rending tests you guys would do. I want to see these Macs again the highest end windows laptops with 4090s and Intel 13 Gen and the new AMD processors

Looks more like an advertisement for the Lenovo than a comparison. But i did find the sound better on the Lenovo or is that distorted because of the video? But the webcam on the Lenovo make a person look pale compared to a person on the MacBook
I’d love to see Apple make a case for the iPad that turns it into a device like the Lenovo. Apple makes truly outstanding touch screens and also has utterly fantastic Haptic Touch technology which would make a virtual keyboard on the bottom display work very well. Add to that Apple Pencil support and it would be such a cool device.
great innovation but it chews through battery. my MacBook Air gets 18 hours battery, easily lasts two days without having to charge and you don't have to carry around a separate keyboard, better to have a physical one built in.
I rarely comment on products, but I had to speak up about Lenovo's new device. While it looks nice, I'm a tactile typist and don't want to carry an extra keyboard. Typing on glass is horrible when you have to type a lot. My biggest concern is what third-party developers are taking advantage of this form factor. I'd rather stick with a Mac. Keep up the good work, though.
I’ve been wanting to support you guys but couldn’t find where to buy your merch online since I’m fairly new to RUclips. What an idiot I am… it’s right here in RUclips!! Just ordered the M1 Max SOC shirt; can’t wait to get it!!
Him struggling to close the virtual trackpad is the reason this won't take off. It runs Windows, and windows is just not great at handling all those different configurations. The software Lenovo built is crappy, glitchy and probably only works half of the time. I am not saying macOS will handle all of this better, but at least it is not trying to. They should not have scrapped Windows 10X.... :(
They need to get a keyboard and trackpad combo, not just an external keyboard. Why not cover the whole of bottom part with a larger keyboard plus trackpad.
Looks absolutely stunning but living and travelling with it would be a nightmare. I’m scared enough of scratching / cracking one screen. I can easily imagine forgetting what the keyboard was and closing the laptop to cause all sorts of accidental damage. Also more bits to carry in a bag when travelling means more things to get lost / damaged.
I used to have a surface pro. I went through three or four cracked screens. Thing was as fragile as a purple haired feminist with an eating disorder. I swear that screen cracked if you looked at it with a mean face. When traveling durability matters MUCH.
He said 9i is designed for general use and not for professional productivity. MBP is designed for PRO users and for professional productivity IT'S NOT A MATCH I liked its design of 9i btw. I wish something like Snapdragon 8cx Gen 4 can compete against more than M1 Pro at least
Some of the use cases looks cool. But the question is are they that useful. This thing is not that powerful. And for work purpose I don’t think anybody would like to move around with an extra keyboard in hand. It seems like an upgraded version of ipad pro rather then a competition to macbook pro.

How's the fan noise?
Does it affect the performance of the YogaBook that it’s unplugged for the test? I noticed the Mb was plugged in.
This Yoga for musician, 2 partitions in each screen is a must have!
I go all the way with the yoga dual screen!
Also it support samsung Dex
Sadly Macbook pro doesn't support Samsung Dex anymore !
Should be great to see a macbook pro dual screen in the future!
You can already tell that the U chip is so under powered for this laptop that it lags.
There is way to much going on with that Lenovo. I like where they’re going with this but I see broken screens for days.
I love that Lenovo takes risks and does wild things like this, just as much as I love that Apple does not.
Why is no one building a iPad Pro case with a second monitor?
No one buys the dual s reen in order to compare to a Mac. You get this for productivity on the go, and you don't need it for computational power
are you going to compare the Slim pro 9i to the Macbook?
what is the Folio Stand angle?
Gimmicks that only extreme nerds will care for. Like cellphones with crazy gimmicks, these won’t really last the test of time.
Hmm, for that price you could get a MacBook Air and a studio display.
I’m getting this if my iPad Pro 12.9 with Magic Keyboard gets accidentally run over by my car
great innovation but it chews through battery. my MacBook Air gets 18 hours battery, easily lasts two days without having to charge and you don't have to carry around a separate keyboard, better to have a physical one built in.
Gaming in a MacBook Pro?
I would have a macbook and this thing together..
So…Curious, there was no plugged in benchmarks on the Lenovo, might of done a little better there
add that laptop a discrete gpu and i'll buy it
I guess its missing the key word "lap". That contraption would suck in your lap Bruh
Awesome haircut. It really suits you. Also, I’m very excited for Apple EVENT 🤩🤩
Touch keyboards suck. As Steve Jobs said, keyboard and trackpad are areas you do not want to mess with.
Nothing is better than Macbook Pro yet!
Professional photography and light gaming recommendations? For this laptop anyone?
Touch screen cannot replace physical keyboard and touchpad with taptic engine 😂 funny solution
I’ve been wanting to support you guys but couldn’t find where to buy your merch online since I’m fairly new to RUclips. What an idiot I am… it’s right here in RUclips!! Just ordered the M1 Max SOC shirt; can’t wait to get it!!
Lenovo did a great job on idea and flexibility and its software, better than most windows laptops!
While I do like the desktop configurations of this with the stand, it just looks gimmicky to me.
i remember acer doing this in 2009 but this is a much more elegant solution
Him struggling to close the virtual trackpad is the reason this won't take off. It runs Windows, and windows is just not great at handling all those different configurations. The software Lenovo built is crappy, glitchy and probably only works half of the time. I am not saying macOS will handle all of this better, but at least it is not trying to. They should not have scrapped Windows 10X.... :(
They need to get a keyboard and trackpad combo, not just an external keyboard. Why not cover the whole of bottom part with a larger keyboard plus trackpad.
If you place the keypad on the upper half of the bottom display the track pad is visible. Don't know why max tech didn't show this feature.
If my budget is $2K, I'd rather get a M1/M2 Macbook air and an iPad Pro 12.9" combo.
Damn! I was thinking of getting an ipad pro... not sure now,
Looks absolutely stunning but living and travelling with it would be a nightmare.
MBP is designed for PRO users and for professional productivity
IT'S NOT A MATCH
I liked its design of 9i btw.
