All bags seem overpriced but in my opinion all the Roland gig bags are just better quality than Gator and similar cases. As well as my AX-Edge, I also have a Fantom-07 and there was no bag out there that was the right size - either too small or too big (Roland don't make a 76-key version). What isn't mentioned anywhere is that the L-shaped padded section in this CB-BAX bag that moulds around the AX-Edge has a hidden zip allowing you to remove the solid foam insert (there's also another corner piece the same). With this removed, it fits the Fantom-07 like a glove in LxWxD and is perfect. So, for those lamenting the fact that Roland don't make a 76-key bag for the Fantom-0 like Yamaha do for the MODX 7 then here is the solution. I love it (for both instruments). Oh, and if you're in the UK, I've just paid £80 from Andertons (Nov 2024). Thanks for the review and all your other AX-Edge content. There aren't enough keytar aficionados out there.
Thanks for posting, I find the price to be objectionable, so I bought a 76- key size generic keyboard gig bag for &32 shipped w tX included from Guitar Center, and it was equivalent level of build and padding, then w $26 of acoustic foam padding from Amazon, I made a custom insert and it fits lime a glove, an excellent secure system for under $60, whereas the Roland product is around $140 here in Texas
Hi, Thanks for your comments, your alternative to the CB BAX sounds interesting and will no doubt be interesting reading to some Keytarists watching this video.
I just broke down and bought stuff, with how rare they're getting and the only other dedicated option being $400+ dollars I figure it's worth the investment!
I’m curious about what kind of cases people are using for these ‘keytars’ since most don’t have appropriate cases specifically made for them..or the ones that do are cheap looking or cumbersome. I’ve use bass guitar cases for my strap on keys. Everyone thinks I’m a bass player until I open it up and pull out a keytar.
Depends on the Keytar, for the more popular Keytars there are custom Hard Cases available for example for the AX Edge theres a custom case from Thomann which already has the shape of the ax edge inside. So when I buy the AX Edge next year im also gonna order the hard case since they have them in Stock
I think Roland got wise to that and added a couple more inches to the length of the Ax Edge. I've got hard and soft keyboard cases for my other keytars.
I too have one of these. They are a bit pricey considering the ammount we pay for the actual AX Edge itself and it's a shame they don't make it part of the package. On saying all that it's more than worth having at the end of the day. There isn't really anything else that can do the job quite as well. It's been custom adapted for this particular Keytar and it's thick strong and sturdy, has lot's of pockets and pouches, like you say big enough for a laptop. The extra straps to carry it on your back may be important when carrying any longer distances, or if like all musicians we tend to try and carry several packs at once when loading and unloading. The overal look is pretty cool too. It is worth it as it's good quality. Shame it doesn't have an extra added on compartment bag that the original AX has, something to put Midi Cables, Batteries, Power supply into, but I Have added something in there myself. It should be a lot less in price, certainly under a hundred in my opinion, but it is still essential when gigging. Good upload there. Thumbs up. Regards Geoff Dean
Geoff Dean Theme Parks Hi, thank you very much for posting your comment and for your feedback. The Ax Edge bag is from the Roland cb black series, which is pretty expensive (check out the price of the 76 key cb black series bag), so is about the price I expected. I need about 6 hands to lug my stuff to gigs so was happy to pay a bit extra for the straps. I'm just glad they didn't make it part of the cb gold series bags. I've recently started creating multi layered sounds for th Ax Edge so I might post more soon. Happy keytar gigging...
Nothing like the Ax_synth bag... Maaaaaan😭 that's bag is amazing.. I couldn't find again its out of stock.. I dont know why roland didn't make the same disgen from it to ax edge
Hi, the Ax Synth does have a rather more curvy (and shorter) body than the Ax Edge and Roland did, it seems, make a bag that is almost identical to this one for the Ax Synth too. Good luck with your hunt for your choice of Ax Synth bag.
Jimmy Nagar I could not find a price but if you type Roland ax edge bag india into google you should find a link to Roland india website page for the cb bax bag. Click on buy now, then click on dealers for a list of possible sellers in India. The bag is in very limited supply though.
Thanks, would have never have found those backpack straps without this video.

the size of this same like 6 oktave softcase or 7 oktave softcase?
Hi,
The Ax edge is 1252mm x 291mm x 85mm (Roland website measurements), so it is about the length of a 76 key keyboard / synthesizer (6 octave).
@@IbandUK thank you for your answer, now i thinking about to buy ordinary 6 octave softcase for my AX edge.
