    Holy crap! Was watching your previous vids and when it came to this, I thought you were literally in my head with the new mic.

      I have real problems balancing the sound on the vids. My speaker and headphones at home sound ok, but then at work the sound can be terrible. Not sure how to fix it.

    Do you have any bets on what will for sure appear on HL papers this year?
    great video btw. :D

    What was the last minute and a half for?

      The mini monsters were behaving are behaving like protons. In the first examples acids are monoprotic, that is they have only 1 proton to release. The final silliness has zombies that release many mini monsters = polyprotic. Hence the title "Attacks of the Polyprotic Acids"

    How do I know which acid are strong and which are weak? We know that HCl is strong and methanoic acid is weak, but is there any trend we can follow to learn which is which, or do we have to memorize them?

    • @ibchemvids
      @ibchemvids  5 лет назад +2

      You have to learn HCl, HNO3, H2SO4 strong and organic acids are weak plus H2CO3

    Why strong acids have weak conjugate base & weak acid has strong conjugate base
    Plz sir tell the reason?

    • @sangeenkhan2430

      To understand that reaction think what is happening to H+ in an acid and base reaction.
      A base gains H+ to make an acid. If that acid is stronger means that H+ can easily be separated from that. So when can say that the proton holding agent ( Base ) is weak.

    Do weak bases produce weak conjugate acids?

    • @ibchemvids
      @ibchemvids  4 года назад

      Nope - weak bases have strong conjugate acids
      NH3 is a weak base , producing NH4+ as the conjugate acid. The equilibrium favours the left hand side.This part of the topic gives me a headache though.

    • @rwayle
      @rwayle 4 года назад

      @@ibchemvids that’s not correct. NH3 is a weak base and it’s conjugate acid NH4+ is a weak acid

    • @mondirapaul
      @mondirapaul 3 года назад +1

      @@rwayle Yeah NH4+ is a weak acid with a pH of 5.5. How my ib teacher had taught me is: A weak acid's conjugate is a weak base, hence its reaction with water (which is amphiprotic) is in equilibrium.
      But a strong acid's conjugate base is so so weak that it's so dumb to even call it a base... because it doesnt even act like one. e.g HCl's conjugate base is Cl- which you can hardly practically call a base (it doesnt accept a Hand go back to form HCl) but by the BL definition it is (1 less H than it's conj acid).
      so a strong acid's conjugate is a very very weak base.
      A weak acid's conjugate base is a weak base (not as weak as the one above since this exists in equilibrium).
      A strong base's conjugate is a v.v.v weak acid.
      A weak base's conjugate is a weak acid. ?

      indeed. Most people did not get the analogy - but you did - so not all wasted then!
