A very clever and talented man, with his own demons. I loved his singing and comedy.
He was the Strindberg of the Gaelic World. What might be have accomplished
if the Drink hadn't ruined some of his finest years.?
What a loss was there ? What a noble mind was here o'erthrown ...?
The miracle is ; given the circumstances he did what he did !
look forward to the next part...

Interesting Norman .... even more interesting I think we might be related, my father is from Grimsay his name is William MacLean, my Grandfather's name was Norman MacLean and I am called after him ... Norma MacLean !!
This ended just when it was becoming interesting i.e. when did he get in touch with himself and start to have choices?
@GordonWellsUist thanks for that!
@UISTMAN59 Deciding where to make the cuts wasn't easy, believe me. The man is a formidable raconteur. There's a lot more on this particular interview in a recent edition of Am Pàipear. You can get in touch with them online now. I have another video piece (not yet posted) with Norman talking about his autobiography - The Leper's Bell. I guess his book would be the best place to get a fuller answer to your questions...
Is this "A River Runs Through It" Maclean?
This is "Leper's Bell" Maclean - renowned Gaelic poet and novelist, singer, piper, stand-up comedian, TV performer.... Check guthan.wordpress.com/sgeulachdan-thormoid/
@LumsdenStreet You're welcome.
@LumsdenStreet Check the "Media Matters" post on the Guthan nan Eilean site.
The senior speaks with a very heavy pronunciation of "r".
