My story below - tell me what you think! The Smiler. The day wore thin on an unusually chilly summer night. The asylum's surroundings were polluted with screams of the unsettled. Room 481C. The room was a no-go zone. Inside, was a girl, Theresa. Her weeping innocence was uncanny. Her slow, repetitive rocking back and forth with her shaken, back-combed hair and scarred, smiling face was enough to keep anyone distanced from her. Many years before, Theresa had lost her parents in a drastic car accident - leading her into a foster home, where she lived for the majority of her child hood. She felt unwanted, and for the most part, kept herself to herself. She suffered from mild depression, and the staff tried to keep her in a stable, neutral mood. The night of October 28, 1995. Children of varying ages clambered into their croaking, worn-out bunk beds. Theresa sat in the hall way, her knees up to her chest. The darkness surrounded her, and left her alone. She wept. Footsteps of a slow pace thudded on each step, as a staff member made their ascent. Paul, whom many kept of the way from, stood before Theresa, his nostrils flared like an Ox. He gripped onto Theresa and pulled her to her feet, "Why the fuck can't you get over yourself?" Paul protested, in a stern, yet quiet voice. Theresa struggled. Paul didn't let loose. In the bathroom of the foster home, Theresa was raped, viciously. Charges didn't follow through. Paul had gotten away with it. Theresa, admidst her anger and depression, plotted to get her sweet vengeance. Noon, November 5, 1995. Theresa attended lunch for the first time in weeks. She knew that Paul would be staying over; his shift routine carousel meant his night shift was on this day. She ate what she could, and left. From the table, she took a knife. Later that night, she sat in her initial position, only this time, with a 4-inch steak knife between her legs. She wept. Paul had fallen for it. His dirty, worn-out hiking boots met carpet before Theresa. His heavyset structure keeled over and grabbed Theresa. She struggled. The knife dropped. Paul had noticed the knife and retrieved it. He took her to the bathroom and pinned her down. She scratched, gasped, and wept underneath Paul's sweaty, heavyset body has he planted his seed. "You shouldn't frown all the time," Paul explained, "when the wind changes, your face will stay like that." In her own tears, Theresa laid defenseless. Paul drew the knife from his pocket and put it to her cheek. She mumbled. He cursed. She struggled, and Paul cut her. He'd carved a wide, near-psychotic smile into her face. With arteries cut and torn, Paul, in a panic, took her out to an abandoned house. An hour of driving brought them to arrival at an old, 5-bedroom house. She was left there. Neighbors had sighted the unfamiliar ondoings the night before and reported it to the local police service. Hours later, a nearby officer responded and checked out his nearby vicinity. He reached the house. Three knocks on the door with the butt of his duty-issued flash light was all that needed to happen. A feminine shout from inside ensued, like a girl amidst excruciating torture. The boney officer charged inside, after calling it on the radio. With his duty sidearm drew and flashlight underneath, he investigated the house. Blood trails around the rotting, old home were all that could be seen. Creak. The officer span around instantly. He stood before her, knife in hand. Jab. The knife entered the officer's right eye. He dropped and struggled, clasping on to the little amount of life that he had left within his system. He died near-instantaneously. Theresa pushed the knife into the officer's cheek, and carved out a smile. SO much so, that cheek remains were left behind. The beam of light coming from the torch, on the ground, lead Theresa out of the house. The terror had just begun...
Back story on Smile Smile's was originally named Josh. Josh was a happy, imaginative boy. He lived a happy life with his mother and never frowned. One day he set out through the woods. While there he heard something rustle through the bushes. When he went to look a person like thing popped out and snatched Josh. Josh was able to get away but he was lost. He grew worried every day that past. Josh was lost for years then finally he found a group of boys around his age. He was now 12. But when Josh tried to explain his story the boys thought he was insane a decided to beat him up. That was the first time he ever frowned. The boys saw this and laughed at him. One of the boys called the police saying there was an insane guy there. The police put Josh in a nut house. There he was kept chained up. Finally at the age of 21 he broke out. He promised to himself that he would never frown again so he pined a smile on his face and his eyes wide open. From there on no one knew where Josh went. One of the original boys who beat him up said he saw him one day. He saw Josh who he called Smile for the insane smile that was pined to his face. The boy who was now 18 said Smile was looking into his house every night. Then one night Smile broke into the 18 year old's house. Before killing him Smile said one thing, " Be happy." No one saw Smile after that event but late at night, adventures who dare go into the Michigan woods sometimes say they see a white, decade face with a smile pined on it, and in the distance they would hear a clattering of chains. Before they would run among eat the winds they would hear a whispering voice saying, "Be Happy." Later on at the age of 21 the adventurer would then get lost in a forest or brutally beaten and killed with a note saying' -Be Happy -and Smile . . O O ' ' .________. \_|_|_|_|_/

I was about to say this makeup looks like the Insane Children from Madness Returns, but then I saw that you've already addressed this in the description haha
((TW: A LOT OF GORE OKAY)) They left him alone. It wasn't wise to do that. He'd been alone for a long time, but more than usual as of late. He managed to wrangle himself out of that god damn straight jacket. The broken metal fastenings that once bound his arms behind his back laid on the floor in front of him. He stared at them, waiting to make up his mind. Then, something broke inside of him. He smiled. He picked up a metal bit and wedged it underneath his top eyelid. His lash line tore as he stretched it farther and farther until he found himself content and clipped it to his forehead. Where his eyelids used to be were angry red patches of flesh with dark drying blood. Something felt missing. He didn't LOOK happy. Then it dawned on him. He needed a smile. He grabbed a handful of metal pieces and forced them into his cheeks, acting as morbid dimples. He pulled one corner up to his cheek, hissing in pain. This part started to hurt more. He marveled at his wonky smile and yanked the other side up to match. He couldn't move his face now, every inch of it was raw and stretched taut. The sides of his mouth twinged slightly, a hint of his old smile poking through. The psuedo-smile caused his lips to tear further, and for him to cry out in pain. He had finally succeeded. Now no one could tell him he wasn't happy, he would have a smile forever. He felt nauseous from the viscera and fluids leaking from his face. At least he felt something.

My story for smile: Dylan was 15 years old and was a good kid, he wasn't one for fighting and violence. All of this changed on one horrible day; 1-29-15... It was a rainy day, enough rain poured down to wash away blood from a corpse and into the nearest drain. Dylan, as always was in his room reading, when he heard his mother cry out in pain for the millionth time that night. "I fucking hate you woman!" His father screamed, "Stop this! Please" Dylan's mother replied in a high pitched beg. Dylan was sick of his mother being beat and his father making him keeping his mouth shut or else he'd kill the both of them. "I wish this fucking stop!" Dylan screamed on the verge of tears. His father heard him and rushed up the stairs and slammed the door open into Dylan's room to enter. Dylan backed up in fright and started to cry silently, his father wasn't one to give into sadness and walked toward Dylan with rage in his eyes. "I'm going to kick your ass boy!" Dylan's father yelled and grabbed Dylan by his neck. Dylan scratched away at his fathers tight grip until his father let him go. "I HATE YOU!" Dylan cursed and threw his lamp at his father's head. His father fell unconscious from the metal post of the lamp hitting his bald head. "DIE YOU FUCKING CUNT!" Dylan sat on his father's chest and smashed his face in with the now broken lamp. "GRRRRRRR!" Dylan took the butter knife sitting on his desk and stabbed his father, knowing he was still alive from the smashing. "DIE! DIE! DIE!" Dylan screamed blood curdling scream as each time he stabbed his long gone father. "YOU ALWAYS FORCED ME TO SMILE AND NEVER SAY A WORD! NOW ITS YOUR TURN!" Dylan grabbed nails and pins from inside his desk draw, to pin a smile in his fathers face. "YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS, DADDY!" He pinned his father's eyelids open and smiled a menacing smile... Since that day Dylan has been in a mental hospital, with the same pinned eyes and smile...

The story of smile... Smile used to be a happy normal kid until one day he was eating ice cream and it fell on the floor he cried for 1 week straight and after he was done crying he pinned his mouth and eyes to appear that he was always smiling forever.
Also my backstory is There was a boy named Jacob he lived in New York with his parents but had multiple persinality distorter every night he had one dream it was his imaganary brother killing his parents. Jacob was at a friends house one day and was in the yard playing in the sprinkelers his imaganary brother was playing to. But he pushed his friend into the sprinkelers slicing his face. Jacob told his parents and thay took him to an insaneaslum his imaganary brother repeted these words "kill yoreself and stay with me" Jacob went insane listening to those words he wanted to smile for the rest of his life so he naked his mouth open. And he gave himself nightmares so he naled his eyes open so he woudent fall asleep. The next morning when the nurse came to give Jacob his pills he cut a rigid smile in her fase and after doing it he said one word "smile."

He then escaped and was never touched by anyone again.
Story Behind SMILE: Kayne was 9 years old and already had to deal with physical and mental bulling at school, he would come home with bruises and sometimes multiple scratches on his face and body. Everything at home was still fine, but on his 10th birthday his dad the most important person to him died in a car crash. For the next few years his mom fell into deep depression and would come home high and drunk every night to wake up Kayne just to hear his pain as she abuses him for ours on end. This continued for a few years and every morning he would tell his mom to smile... until his sanity was gone.

In his dressing room he was smiling, glad he could do something nice for people. His fiance a few years back, cheated on him. She said that he wasn't enough for him to make her smile. This left him depressed. How could he not keep the one thing that he loved the happy? This started a fire in his heart, swearing that he will make people smile, just to make up for his lack thereof with his ex-fiance. He blamed himself for everything, even though it was her who was at fault. Thinking about this he was sitting infront of mirror, and he noticed the smile he had has turned into a frown. And then a knock was heard. He turned to the door and said "Yes? What is it?" "Its me Keith." Alex the owner of the place replied "We need to talk." He added while Keith opened the door "What's seems to be the problem?" Keith asked worriedly "Look. I know you've been here, performing for years but, lately rates has been going down and well..we need to look for fresh talents. And to do so we need to let go of our old ones." So I made this up I hope you guys like it P.S. sorry for bad spelling His name was Charlie. He was a happy boy the age of 19. Always was smiling his eyes always open they even looked like they smiled. He was always making people happy he wouldn't stop till hey smiled or laughed. Charlie soon went insane and was taken to an asylum. He was there till he was 21 He sat there smiling and laughing. He soon got the ides of making him smile forever! he ran to his mirror and he pined both sides of his mouth up and took his eye lids and pined them open and same with his tear duct and he did the same to his right eye as he did to his left eye. the guard seen him and called over 2 other guards to take him deeper in to the asylum as they took him away he killed all the guards and set the other people there go. He now runs around Howling in laughter. Be carful if you hear the laughter do go to it or he will do what he did to him self to you. Hope you liked it
At first, I thought that the smile and the pulled eyelids were prosthetics before I watched the video. And Charlie, smart idea adding depth to the smile. In my opinion, you should do stuff like this more often.
I want to thank you for this. I've never done face painting to this degree but I'm being asked to help the SO in a costume that will be similar to this. This tutorial helped greatly with what I should start out with since I have little to no make up NORMALLY and I'm going to have to get a supply of stage/costume make up.

Numerous murders following the escape were left unsolved, staples in their foreheads and cheeks. All evidence points to The Smiler, but no one has seen him since his escape. Some say he died, but others say he waits for the mockers and humiliators to turn their backs then he knocks them out and slowly fixes a smile on their face. Watch your back, and ALWAYS remember to smile.

It was a stormy night there was a 16 year old And his name was dylan who was never all that happy he always got bullied in school he got teased because he had long black hair and looked very sad all the of the time but that's not where the story begins ,the story begins 2 years ago he was In 8th grade and at the being he was happy he had a great life he was getting good grades and he never got bullied or teased, but that all changed on November 4, 1998 he was in school it was a sunny day but it would not end so happy. Dylan had a girlfriend her name was Jenna, thier relationship was going great, until she spotted the new guy Jake ,he was a Jock and she broke up with Dylan faster than u can say applebutter ,well,u see Dylan didn't want to give up on Jenna so he kept talking to her and flirting with her and Jake saw him flirting with Jenna one day, so Jake decided to teach Dylan a lesson and he told Dylan to meet him on the football field after school and thats exactly what he did and Jake beat up Dylan so much he almost killed him, so Dylan went home and since his face was so messed ,and he couldnt smile so he clapmed open his mouth and so he could smile forever and he also wanted to make sure he could always see everything so he clamped open his eyes the end

Back story on Smile
Smile's was originally named Josh. Josh was a happy, imaginative boy. He lived a happy life with his mother and never frowned. One day he set out through the woods. While there he heard something rustle through the bushes. When he went to look a person like thing popped out and snatched Josh. Josh was able to get away but he was lost. He grew worried every day that past. Josh was lost for years then finally he found a group of boys around his age. He was now 12. But when Josh tried to explain his story the boys thought he was insane a decided to beat him up. That was the first time he ever frowned. The boys saw this and laughed at him. One of the boys called the police saying there was an insane guy there. The police put Josh in a nut house. There he was kept chained up. Finally at the age of 21 he broke out. He promised to himself that he would never frown again so he pined a smile on his face and his eyes wide open. From there on no one knew where Josh went. One of the original boys who beat him up said he saw him one day. He saw Josh who he called Smile for the insane smile that was pined to his face. The boy who was now 18 said Smile was looking into his house every night. Then one night Smile broke into the 18 year old's house. Before killing him Smile
said one thing, " Be happy." No one saw Smile after that event but late at night, adventures who dare go into the Michigan woods sometimes say they see a white, decade face with a smile pined on it, and in the distance they would hear a clattering of chains. Before they would run among eat the winds they would hear a whispering voice saying, "Be Happy." Later on at the age of 21 the adventurer would then get lost in a forest or brutally beaten and killed with a note saying'

((TW: A LOT OF GORE OKAY)) They left him alone. It wasn't wise to do that. He'd been alone for a long time, but more than usual as of late. He managed to wrangle himself out of that god damn straight jacket. The broken metal fastenings that once bound his arms behind his back laid on the floor in front of him. He stared at them, waiting to make up his mind. Then, something broke inside of him. He smiled. He picked up a metal bit and wedged it underneath his top eyelid. His lash line tore as he stretched it farther and farther until he found himself content and clipped it to his forehead. He felt no pain, only cool blood running down his cheeks and pooling in his lap. Finally he was beginning to feel something. Finally. He wiped his bloody hands on his discarded jacket. He took another fastening and jammed it into his lower eyelid. He yanked it downwards and clipped it to his cheek bone. He didn't know why he needed to do this to himself. He needed to do it. He needed to feel something. He needed to be happy. He repeated on the other eye. He walked over to the shatterproof mirror across the room and gazed at his work. His eyes were stretched wide open. Where his eyelids used to be were angry red patches of flesh with dark drying blood. Something felt missing. He didn't LOOK happy. Then it dawned on him. He needed a smile. He grabbed a handful of metal pieces and forced them into his cheeks, acting as morbid dimples. He pulled one corner up to his cheek, hissing in pain. This part started to hurt more. He marveled at his wonky smile and yanked the other side up to match. He couldn't move his face now, every inch of it was raw and stretched taut. The sides of his mouth twinged slightly, a hint of his old smile poking through. The psuedo-smile caused his lips to tear further, and for him to cry out in pain. He had finally succeeded. Now no one could tell him he wasn't happy, he would have a smile forever. He felt nauseous from the viscera and fluids leaking from his face. At least he felt something.

My story for smile:
Dylan was 15 years old and was a good kid, he wasn't one for fighting and violence. All of this changed on one horrible day; 1-29-15... It was a rainy day, enough rain poured down to wash away blood from a corpse and into the nearest drain. Dylan, as always was in his room reading, when he heard his mother cry out in pain for the millionth time that night. "I fucking hate you woman!" His father screamed, "Stop this! Please" Dylan's mother replied in a high pitched beg. Dylan was sick of his mother being beat and his father making him keeping his mouth shut or else he'd kill the both of them. "I wish this fucking stop!" Dylan screamed on the verge of tears. His father heard him and rushed up the stairs and slammed the door open into Dylan's room to enter. Dylan backed up in fright and started to cry silently, his father wasn't one to give into sadness and walked toward Dylan with rage in his eyes. "I'm going to kick your ass boy!" Dylan's father yelled and grabbed Dylan by his neck. Dylan scratched away at his fathers tight grip until his father let him go. "I HATE YOU!" Dylan cursed and threw his lamp at his father's head. His father fell unconscious from the metal post of the lamp hitting his bald head. "DIE YOU FUCKING CUNT!" Dylan sat on his father's chest and smashed his face in with the now broken lamp. "GRRRRRRR!" Dylan took the butter knife sitting on his desk and stabbed his father, knowing he was still alive from the smashing. "DIE! DIE! DIE!" Dylan screamed blood curdling scream as each time he stabbed his long gone father. "YOU ALWAYS FORCED ME TO SMILE AND NEVER SAY A WORD! NOW ITS YOUR TURN!" Dylan grabbed nails and pins from inside his desk draw, to pin a smile in his fathers face. "YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS, DADDY!" He pinned his father's eyelids open and smiled a menacing smile... Since that day Dylan has been in a mental hospital, with the same pinned eyes and smile...

Jacob was at a friends house one day and was in the yard playing in the sprinkelers his imaganary brother was playing to. But he pushed his friend into the sprinkelers slicing his face. Jacob told his parents and thay took him to an insaneaslum his imaganary brother repeted these words "kill yoreself and stay with me" Jacob went insane listening to those words he wanted to smile for the rest of his life so he naked his mouth open. And he gave himself nightmares so he naled his eyes open so he woudent fall asleep. The next morning when the nurse came to give Jacob his pills he cut a rigid smile in her fase and after doing it he said one word "smile."

He was then taken by the police to prison for insanity he did after each abusive event. He then escaped and was never touched by anyone again.

This continued for a few years and every morning he would tell his mom to smile... until his sanity was gone.

My version of The Story Of Smiler :
It was a cloud day in NYC, Keith Colwin a comedian had just woken up in his apartment. He lived alone, in a small apartment, a crummy neighborhood, a sort of depressing life for someone who makes people laugh for a living. Keith was always contented with his life, not having much pay and just doing what he loved the most was enough for him, and that was giving smiles to people. It was the only thing he was good at. In all honesty he was crippling with depression. But knowing that he could make people smile had given him a reason.
One night he had a show, as usual he went on stage, threw some jokes here and there. People laughed. And he felt happy. In his dressing room he was smiling, glad he could do something nice for people.
His fiance a few years back, cheated on him. She said that he wasn't enough for him to make her smile. This left him depressed. How could he not keep the one thing that he loved the happy?
This started a fire in his heart, swearing that he will make people smile, just to make up for his lack thereof with his ex-fiance.
He blamed himself for everything, even though it was her who was at fault. Thinking about this he was sitting infront of mirror, and he noticed the smile he had has turned into a frown.
And then a knock was heard. He turned to the door and said
"Yes? What is it?"
"Its me Keith." Alex the owner of the place replied
"We need to talk." He added while Keith opened the door
"What's seems to be the problem?" Keith asked worriedly
"Look. I know you've been here, performing for years but, lately rates has been going down and well..we need to look for fresh talents. And to do so we need to let go of our old ones." The owner looked at him
"What do you mean?" Keith still holding into that smile
"You're fired Keith. I'm sorry."
He was devastated. Crushed. How could he have failed again? Is he just not good enough?
Still smiling "its alright Alex. I understand." He said as he grabbed his things and left.
He went home and stared at the mirror still smiling but with tears running down his cheeks
He closed his eyes and he saw himself. Standing there frowning.
He hated seeing people frown. He hated himself for not being good enough, he quickly opened his eyes and looked into a the mirror.
He saw his face with a shocked expression, his eye twitched and he forced a smile. He blinked and saw another person not smiling. He twitched and grew frustrated but still he kept him self smiling.
But every time he blinked he saw someone who was not smiling. Growing in number he became angered, he took a industrial stapler and stapled his eye lid open forever. He screamed in pain and saw his reflection. It wasn't smiling. He took his stapler and grinned widely, he stapled his mouth but the muscles were too strong. He took a hook and pierced his cheek hooking the edge of his lips to it. Blood dripped slowly and he looked at himself in the mirror. He laughed for a long time until he heard a knock on the door.
"Be quietm" the voice said. He imagined that person with an angered expression and it made him pounce to the door and threw it open. He saw a woman with a shocked expression.
She was about to scream but she Keith dragged she into the room "don't worry! I won't let you see the frowny people." He said grabbing the stapler and jabbing it through her eyelids "you will always smile now!" He yelled as he took the hooks and pierced her cheeks as he did with himself.
He did this to a few other people until the police came and took him to an asylum.

He now runs around Howling in laughter. Be carful if you hear the laughter do go to it or he will do what he did to him self to you.

At first, I thought that the smile and the pulled eyelids were prosthetics before I watched the video. And Charlie, smart idea adding depth to the smile. In my opinion, you should do stuff like this more often.
I want to thank you for this. I've never done face painting to this degree but I'm being asked to help the SO in a costume that will be similar to this. This tutorial helped greatly with what I should start out with since I have little to no make up NORMALLY and I'm going to have to get a supply of stage/costume make up.

Backstory: Walter Highman sold balloons at a local carnival. His enemy, Palpiti the Jester, always made fun of Highman an purposefully humiliated him on stage. On November 16, 1987, Highman murdered Palpiti on stage by stapling his eyelids to his forehead and cut a smile in his cheeks. He was admitted to a New York insane asylum on December 23, 1987, four hours after his trial. On November 16, 1999, Highman escaped the asylum and stapled his eyelids to his forehead and stapled his lip corners to his cheeks and called himself The Smiler. Numerous murders following the escape were left unsolved, staples in their foreheads and cheeks. All evidence points to The Smiler, but no one has seen him since his escape. Some say he died, but others say he waits for the mockers and humiliators to turn their backs then he knocks them out and slowly fixes a smile on their face. Watch your back, and ALWAYS remember to smile.

Dylan had a girlfriend her name was Jenna, thier relationship was going great, until she spotted the new guy Jake ,he was a Jock and she broke up with Dylan faster than u can say applebutter ,well,u see Dylan didn't want to give up on Jenna so he kept talking to her and flirting with her and Jake saw him flirting with Jenna one day, so Jake decided to teach Dylan a lesson and he told Dylan to meet him on the football field after school and thats exactly what he did and Jake beat up Dylan so much he almost killed him, so Dylan went home and since his face was so messed ,and he couldnt smile so he clapmed open his mouth and so he could smile forever and he also wanted to make sure he could always see everything so he clamped open his eyes the end
