I went to the cursed child book release and was wearing Hufflepuff robes proudly then when we got there we were randomly put into houses by choosing coloured marbles from a bag and I was put into Slytherin. I wasn't very happy you can imagine haha
I'm surprised they missed the chance to make a bit more of the hat, they could easily have made a puppet out of it so that it looked a bit more like the real sorting hat (with a moving mouth, etc). Still looks like fun though!
This is all a "make the guest happy" kinda thing it seems.... like if they are wearing something related to a certain house they end up in that house if they are wearing something that relates to a certain house they tend to ask which house you'd like to be in & you end up in tat house.
