This was very fun. It seemed much more personal than the usual "kill him, conquer them, marry for genetics, bulldoze these battles, am emperor"

That’s because at the core, CK isn’t a grand strategy series because the grand strategy part is just too shallow. It’s a type of role playing game. Hence why everyone who plays it like EUIV gets bored after a fairly short amount of time.

@@Arcaryon CK3 is in no way whatsoever a roleplaying game. It is a "stack the green modifier" game.
@@Falconer1523 Notice how I wrote CK and not CK3? Also, the idea of mainly stacking multipliers is exactly why it’s, for now, so much less interesting ( not even mentioning that it’s, in fact, no mainly a stats buffing game, evidenced by a ton of mechanics solely existing to cater to role playing, like friendships, traits going far beyond being just a buff or a debut etc. ) CK2 is a legend precisely because it didn’t just turn into a "become the biggest lord by clicking buttons until you have plus 50.000 attack power" type of game.
You NEED a modlist on your videos, Laith! For God's sake...

obfusckate needs some sort of a reputation mechanic where knowledge of a military's general strength spreads without the use of espionage if it is deployed often and wins major wars/battles, or where knowledge of a character's traits spreads if they take actions relevant to other rulers. medieval rulers had some general knowledge of surrounding polities especially if those polities were very active, and it seems like the mod has gone too far in the opposite direction from base game ck3 in making rulers overly ignorant.
This is what CK3 would be if Paradox had balls.

Literally nobody would play then. Half of the fun of ck3 is see what does ai do and you get bizarre moments like mongols invading UK, shepardic Jew viking varangian adventurers , zoarastrians seljuks etc.
I think it really depends which audience theyre appealing to. Theres a reason ck3 is so popular, it appeals to many different audiences. This might be a bit too hardcore for the casual people who enjoy the character experience and we know just how much grand strategy people hate having control taken from them (even if it makes the game more compelling, as a reminder a lot of these players would turn off the council dlc for being too restrictive

(Seems like much, 27 to be exact, but it’s great, highly recommend!)
This felt like an episode of "With which thing does Laith torture himself today" and well, it was complete misery. There were good things like that pirate king stuff, but mostly it was marrying infertile women, lesbians or idiots. Atleast you had an heir... this mod makes it so chaotic. 😑

8:55 Oh, I remember this bug. IIRC it was caused by "Prisoners of War" mod, but now, i believe it's fixed
(It would also give you traveler XP for every opened window, so it would get maxed by traveling single for province and back)

This is the first playthrough for CK3 I've seen that makes me feel it would be fun to play CK3. For the love of god, share the modlist! :)

Honestly Vanilla CK3 should implement something like the ObfusCKate mod. Maybe make famous rulers a bit more visible. It would be interesting if you or an AI gain a trait related to bravery or cowardice through a public event that could also become known as far and wide.

Funfact, Playing as Krutoj is definetely more challenging and fun. You have no realm you can allied with, pomerania and veletia both have a county you need to complete your aspiration with and the other duchy is holstein which force you to fight denmark and HRE. That duke of veletia guy is programmed to be verh aggresive expansionist. So with threat from everywhere, it's one of the most fun start in CK3.
If it's compatible this kind of thing feels like it would be great for a mega campaign

Damn you pick the guy with a pretty fun background, his father converted to christianity, got sent by his pagan father into a monastery, then became slavic pagan to have alliance and seek revenge (his father got yeeted by saxons), got vassalized by the danes, sent into england and fought alongside Cnut, reconvert, marry Cnut's sister, came back and gained independence using his wife, and got yeeted by yet another saxons 😂 that guy is just like that one priest in Viking series. He managed to avenge his father tho, he pillaged yeet his father yeeter

Honestly, I still don't understand why 'Obfusckate Hidden Information' isn't a base game feature by this point. It changes the experience drastically, while it's rather easy to implement. Should be something that you could toggle on and off in the game rules and then we could finally use it in AGOT as well.

Try community mods for historicity, it’s a massive realism modpack and very fun. I’d disable trick or trait though, that mod always breaks for me
Is there a mod removing teleporting armies? I haven't touched CK2 ever since they added that to the game and CK3 shipped with teleportation technology as well. Mustering is one of the most entertaining and interesting part of the war in old CK2.

the question is whether npc's have access to the information that is hidden from you. because if they do it would just be unfair, not necessarily more balanced

Paradox could grab the molders and help them develop the next dlcs because this is a game changer and makes the game a lot more fun.

Very nice realism. The struggle of a small ruler is a stark contrast to the mainstream CK 3 videos.

i beg for a modlist this looks so fun
The problems with these amazing mods is the creators of the mod leave the un-updated for years, even abandon them. Paradox patches a lot, i get it but that is no excuse for most modders to leave people haging. I stopped playing CK3 because all the mods that were essential are out of date, their authors vanished.
It’s not their job. Most mods are free and require their creators so much time spent with no monetary incentive. If you want to have expectations of them, you need to pay them.

@@borginburkes1819 It being 1000x more challenging doesn’t make it more realistic. Especially when magic is in Ck2. But I do wish the AI did more in Ck3.
@@zenthossohtnez8331 except it does make it more realistic. Managing a kingdom is hard work. The fact that CK3 ai literally just stands around doing nothing is what makes ck3 unrealistic.
