I love how the Uruk's are way more professional than the Orcs. Even protecting the hobbits
Simply because it was their duty. If they’d been ordered (by Saruman) to kill Merry and Pippin, they’d have done so just the same. The fighting Uruk-hai are as loyal as most.
They're under strict orders from Saruman.
They only protected them because Saruman ordered them to be delivered to him alive and unspoiled. They'd have gladly butchered them themselves otherwise.
That's because urak hais are half human so they're smarter
@@fuexiong88 In the books, it's less that it makes them inherently smarter, and more it makes them bigger and able to withstand sunlight; Orcs are descendants of Elves, let's not forget. Uruk-hai and Orcs in the books didnt attack the Hobbits unless ordered, the scene of Grishnakhi attacking the Hobbits is partially a movie invention.

it's still unbelievable this movie came out in 2002 ... looks sooo much better than anything today.
Its 2020 my friend and I still watch all 3 movies , Are the only movies that I get never upset watching , and the hobbit it is beautiful but LOTR its better ✌👍

Only the Uruk-hai Orcs work for Saruman. The other orcs are from Moria, and they joined the Uruk-hai to get revenge on the Fellowship for going through the mines.

@@RDiiAZ don't get me wrong. CGI can be stunning and immersive. Look at Marvels Infinity War/Endgame. The thing is you don't realise that and thats what CGI is supposed to do. The hobbit looked like a good videogame but didn't felt like a real world.
@@Erny052 you do realize if you watched the appendices mostly every major scene people wear the outfits in the scenes that are orcs . They're just meant to look different cause they're different races . So they wanted to change up a bit so they don't look the same . There's a lot less CGI in Lord of the Rings (Lord of the Rings still used alot of CGI Orc and Uruks ) just that Mordor Orcs and uruks and Isengard Uruks look better than Misty Mountain Goblins and Moria Orcs . That's all . They did an excellent job at making new races in the Hobbit however I just love the Isengard Uruks more than anything else .
hunter affleck ok sorry that’s my bad. Still the Orcs of the hobbit have a pretty „generic“ orc look. Not that they bad but the Lotr orcs all look very unique in a sense. I don’t hate hobbit but Lotr takes the lead here imo.
Practical Orcs are so awesome and scary. The Hobbit Trilogy really missed the mark by using CGI Orcs.

As if the Uruk Hai/Mordor orc tensions werent enough, in the book there was a third group of orcs involved in this scene, who had tracked the fellowship all the way from Moria and wanted revenge for all the orcs the fellowship killed while passing through Moria.
It was quite fascinating watching these three independent groups of orcs trying and failing to negotiate their differences (with more than one decapitation being involved) - the Uruk hai were determined to bring the halflings to Saruman, the Mordor orcs to deliver them to the Nazgul, and the Moria orcs just wanted to kill them and then go home.
I always felt bad the Moria orcs who traveled so far just to avenge their fallen kin, only to meet their grisly fate on the end of the Rohirrim's spears, in the to them alien grasslands so far from the dark comfort of their caves in Moria.
Which ones in the moria orc can you drop time ?

If I remember correctly the Moria orcs eventually turned back and run away, while the Uruks and Mordor orcs continued their disputes.

Because it's actually the plural for "Uruk" that means orc.
So Gobelins, snaga and Saruman's soldiers are all Uruk Hai.
The Uruk hai seems more reasonable than the orc.

The Lord of the Rings is a Timeless Classic. You really appreciate it more than when hit the movie theaters almost 20 years ago; seeing the real actors, makeup, costumes compared to the overused CGI. You look back and are still impressed to see it hold up throughout time! I Love this/these movies, Great memories!

The Uruk hai in LOTR were so menacing!!
I kinda like ugluk, his loyalty to sauruman is pure while being brutal to those who are hindrance to his mission.
Same he was loyal and fought valiantly against the horse lords
Well, Saruman is the only reason that he even exists, so it is not so strange when you think about it.
I like these scenes since it shows even the bad guys are not united, merely putting up with each other.
Just like the good guys. Only thing that unites people is mutual assured destruction.

Always gets me when Gimli says 'What madness drove them in there?' Well the Orcs and Uruk-hai of course!! If you look around the area there's not really anywhere they could escape to easily, that's clearly their best option.

One of the URAK HAIS actor is the dad to someone in my class and bruh he is insanely fit. He almost beat 5 boys that did 10 push-ups each even with a thirty second head start

Grishnak, that orc leader had so much luck he almost got killed by the uruks because he was hungry, was the only orc to survive the riders attack and then got a quick death thanks to the ent

Can we acknowledge just how good the Rohirrim warriors are on horseback? Especially that archer. That night ambush was perfect: they silently crept up on the Uruks in the dead of night, performed a flawless pincer maneuver, and never collided with their oncoming comrades.
Yeah, but it is a bit bothering that (if I'm not mistaken), we see no Rohirrim die. There were quite a few orcs/uruks and even if they were caught off guard, we see that they had time to pick up their shields (and they had their armor on). It seems,, in the end, that the Rohirrim end up losing two men, since Eomer later gives what we can assume is their horses to Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas, but it would have been nice to see uruks stab horses and take down a few riders, since they chose to show some of the fight. It is also fairly obvious that they should have had uruks watching and maybe even scouting around the camp, since they were in dangerous territory and had even realized that they were being tracked, plus they had a fire going. This one isn't too egregious though, since they are not meant to be very smart.
@@philippemineau2015i think rohirrim had plenty of spare horses tho. much like the mongols, they switch from horse to horse to avoid them building fatigue which means longer riding time

@Elvin Ostrup Exactly. I think hobbit was very good, i like that thorin's crew got different personalities because tolkien wasn't paying attention to Dwalin for example. But it's too much green screen, everything has this fake shine xD
But i think both series are good, i just like orks and a couple small things in lotr better (they are more realistic).

Fun fact: In the books, the Uruk's medicine was actually pretty effective. Pipin described it as something that gave a nice warmth from within and restored the energy.

I found it a pity that no blood poured when his arm was cut. That would be natural. As with his head

Notice that they also take- over position like they have a hierarchy. Like all knew about the order and understood.
I always agreed he had to hold back, cause if it was up to Jackson, most likely youd see results like the decapitation of the goblin in the mines of Moria, the eruption of black blood from its neck. But I know for a fact theres WAY more footage then even the extended stuff, and alot of the sound effects for gore were kept in, for instance the meats on the menu scene when he hacks off that orcs head in front of Merry and Pip, listen close when the head and body slump, you can hear its blood squirting so you have to assume that shot the scene with black blood squirting and without, which is the extended scene we just saw.
I guess they did that no blood so kids won't see that i guess
HAHAHA I had a friend I grew up with and he memorized the "they are not for eating" scene line for line. Why this scene? I have no idea. But, it was damn hilarious whenever he quoted it screams and all!!!

I always liked the uruks because of their strength and loyalty... but when I today think about it: they went for hunt of 9 guys, and when they arrived the fellowship already lost Gandalf, so they only had to fight 2 men, 1 dwarf and 1 elf... when they went to the hunt they were how many? 300, 400 ... idk, but they only killed one man, lost the half of the own troops and their captain was beheaded, by the way they caught the wrong halflings but thats okay because they didnt know... and finally no one of them came back... so, I think it was the worst special operation those guys ever did
The lion sound fx go really well with the uruk kai voices when they growl lol

The uruk-khai are actually sweet for the hobbits
Although that CGI does allow complete range of movement for actors/actresses, I still prefer the special effects makeup type approach since it gives more realism and there have been cases of bad CGI work. Along with that too much CGI can take away from levels of realism by not having a realistic feel to it, at least when it isn't done correctly but when correctly done it should be where one can't tell which is real or CGI.
I never go off how many films sean bean dies in, i go off how long he survives in a film or tv series.
