VOID DEATH ケェヲキェケ, I like the blue nitrile gloves however the ones I end up finding in hospitals are never durable as well as I feel the blue would take away from some of the art in the frame when using them versus black.
As an art history student I can tell you people use cotton gloves for handling old paintings so I'm guessing cotton gloves also cut it for opening pokemon cardgame boxes?
Some museum stopped using cotton gloves because it was damaging books , they were drying out the pages. And its hard to tell pressure with them so when turning pages that become dried out. The pages were ripping.
I prefer to use "food safety Gloves" for opening really expensive cards! They a normaly free from some powder or coating for disinfection even tho they are used for food. But normaly you just have to use some "Barrier" to make sure, that you dont get your filthy grease on to the cards :D
I started watching this with headphones but somehow the reverb of your room made it sound like you’re in the room with me so I genuinely jumped good video
@maxmoefoePokemon the gloves you are looking for are Archival Gloves (normally white cotton) that you can find on Amazon. Those are what we used when working with unframed and delicate art pieces when I work in a gallery for a few years, and do a pretty good job at keeping hand oils and such off of whatever you are working with.
Honestly my favorite thing about Max’s videos is that no matter how expensive whatever he’s opening is, he’s gonna throw something and freak me the fuck out
max ripping that absolutely untouched postcard also ripped my soul nothing quite like watching the collectible value of something drain before your very eyes
Hey max, I don't know if you already were told this, but the reason that the Pikachu promo has Tapu Lele, Buzzwole, and Zekrom in the background is because they were some of the most influencial cards in the TCG competative metagame for the Sun and Moon block of sets. Specifically Tapu Lele Gx, Buzzwole (Gx and Normal) as well as Pikachu and Zekrom tag team. Just wanted to point it out. Have a nice day, you massive legend.
The powder inside the gloves is to help with keeping your hands not insanely sweaty in the gloves. As for what to use I'd use a thinner cloth glove instead of latex though
Idk about Magic but in the high end bong industry we use either fluffy cotton gloves or microfiber, but you gotta even keep those in a storage space so no dust gets in them. I suggest microfiber.
Gen7 was a very fun and different era. The Gen7 Pikachu Cosplayer, Mimikyu, being my new #1 favorite pokemon. The game having a different route of passing the trials instead of the cliche beat the shit out of the gym leaders to get a badge to fight the elite four and become champion, the Alola region never had a Pokemon League before so it was fascinating to help jumpstart it,and Team Skull were a fun and memorable antagonist group. I'll miss Guzma. And most importantly, Ash finally won the Pokemon League in Gen7. This was a great generation for seasoned Pokemon fans and I do hope Gen8 will live up to it
6:55 fun fact the reason it translated to "Bikatu" is because it mistook ピ(pī) for ビ(bī) and チ(chī) is often used in writing english words that make the tī sound
I work Fire/EMS and my personal favorite exam gloves to use are Microflex MidKnight Black Exam Gloves. They’re non-latex and powder free. They have the best comfort, durability, and grip of any gloves on the market in my opinion. Very good to use with tedious tasks and handling fragile items. I believe they would work very well for the cards.
For gloves, Might i suggest Raven Nitrile disposable gloves? I don't use any other to work with regardless of the task they are superior! no powder fit smug but i'm not sure if they are available in Australia? worth a look though!
Vou don't need gloves for opening cards, there's actually an argument against it, because they stick in the cards and you may have a hard time adjusting the pressure you apply with your hands
Use powder free TouchNTuff® nitrile gloves, I use them in a lab while handling glass for solar cells that has to remain pristine and free from contaminants.
You should use Purple Nitrile un-powdered gloves for opening my guy. They are grippy to avoid dropping cards, and they will not leave powdery residue on them either.
go to your local pharmacy for good gloves! we use these blue gloves, they have no powder, they’re thick, and the fingers have slight texture to help grip things.
You need white cotton gloves Max, white cotton gloves can prevent much of the damage to works of art and photographs which is caused during handling by the chemical reactions of the body oils in fingerprints with the image.
Max: *buys something very expensive and special or limited thing that is very special* Max: Very nice mat we ain’t looking at the cute stuff we looking at big boy stuff I got to be careful not to ruin this beautiful thing Max:*throws across the room*
If you ever want gloves for opening anything special, never go with vynil or latex. Go with white cotton. They might be a bit tricky to use with these slick cards, but they dont add any smears or prints in any way and are very soft. There are some available from amazon, just dont cheap out on them, you might get ones that lose fibers a lot.
The best thing you can do if frequently wash (and dry) your hands when handling/opening packs instead of wearing gloves. Gloves actually are more slippery than skin, and can dampen your sense of touch and hand strength which can lead to accidental damage. However, you should be fine wearing standard cotton gloves for handling the cards since the card stock is durable. You then just need to take care of the gloves and store them properly in between card handling so they don't get dirty/oily. Media likes to portray museums using white gloves when handling paper goods, but that really isn't practiced anymore. White gloves just look more iconic and professional, but they can cause more harm than good. But, like I said, white cotton gloves should be fine for handling the cards themselves. You really just want to prevent getting oils on cards.
Likely my comment gets drowned, but regarding gloves: I suggest nitrile gloves! You can get them usually in blue but also in black color. Someone suggested cotton gloves; those are too slippery for handling the cards in my experience. The texture on nitrile gloves allows for good handling. Looking forward to more pack openings!
Having lived in New Zealand for a part of my life, and having been out of the place for quite a while... seeing that “SAFE AS” on the box for the gloves brings back memories. Thank you, massive legend maxmoefoe.
Im not sure what would be better for cards, but a lot of "premium" opening channels use cotton gloves, or powderless nitrile gloves are good for handling things (I use them for handling things like gold plated things and jewelry)
Hey Max! I'm a tattoo apprentice and we use powder free nitrile gloves. You can get latex too but I like the feel of the nitrile a bit better. And you can get them with textured fingers so you won't struggle opening the packs at all!
use non-powdered nitrile gloves if you want in the future, but just so you know, if you're looking at extremely old and valuable books you are specifically instructed not to use any gloves at all as the lack of tactility from wearing the gloves leads to more handling issues.
Anyone know what site these guys buy their boxes and stuff off? I find them online for $150-160 for latest boxes, but in ebgames it’s $250 ain’t paying $250, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!!
Hey I’m a chef might help with the whole glove situation we use a blue latex free glove that almost makes it feel like your wearing nothing but dosent hinder your movements at all.

Cotton Gloves are the way to go. You see those in all the museums and archives where they have to delicately handle paper.
Some museum stopped using cotton gloves because it was damaging books , they were drying out the pages. And its hard to tell pressure with them so when turning pages that become dried out. The pages were ripping.

Use cloth gloves. Specifically Cotten. They make stuff a little harder to open but they prevent all scratching/damaging when opening the packs.
