Decent video. I’ve got an insanely profitable strategy and i’m more than happy to take 2:1. I do view it as greed ‘letting winners run’/ taking more than planned/back-tested. If it’s a case of taking as much as possible why back- test to see how profitable a strategy is? How much more do you take? When do you draw the line? Not profitable yet as there’s a distinct inconsistency trading only my sessions and nothing else due to work schedule . This week has been most insightful in this regard, 3 trading days +5% on two accounts.
This video is powerful. I followed a 1:2RR system but when I journal, I noticed my trades going longer 1:5+ but fear would make me close because I would beat myself up for holding trying to reach max TP only for me to close at 1:2RR or less again.
Don't worry. It takes time to get emotionally comfortable (trust) with your strategy. Get to know your strategy more. In Backtest, in real-time, and in reviewing your trades. As you grow with your strategy, the trust will grow and fear will be less.

Over My 100 trades 28 Winners 57 Losers 15 Breakeven Average winning trade = 1:5.5 Average break even trade = 1:2.5 My win rate is 28% i am profitable overall but not consistently profitable Made 11.5% in Jan and Feb Lost 6% in Mar, Apr and May i have long losing streaks may be 10 continuous losses. This system is actually good my guy. Losing streaks are going to come with such RR targets. You will just have to always stick to your strict risk management. Look at the fact that You are taking consistent action and you have profitable quarters/years instead of monthly

For me ,I am good with my technicals but I'm very much struggling to be self-discipline and follow my trading plan. And I'm also a very greedy trader and I also trade with my emotion, which shouldn't be and I am really trying to get my psychology right.

Hey Mark, Thanks for the advice; however I got a question for you; 😅 so, I do futures and the funded Pro Firms I can’t Hold trades longer like swing trades it is a violation rule. But, I know my trades works about 4% to 6% but I am taking just 1 or 2 %; and to get that 6% my trade will run for at least 2 or 3 hours. But, the problem sometimes is the reversals, so I have to protect when the market moves on my direction.

From statistic perspective, if you increase distance of your TP, you decreasing win rate at the same time. Every trader should have backtesting data, where he can find answers on what is the most optimal ratio between distance of TP and win rate for him. For example, my backtesting data shows me, that my average win go to +14RR, but it is completely nonsense targeting those RR, because I would have win rate 14 % which is for normal trader absolutely unsustainable. Ideal win rate should be abow 40%, so shouldn´t we try to make statistik based decision on what TP we should most of the time target?

I set my take profit to 1:1 on a trade I took on Friday and it went on to hit a 1:6.. would have passed my 50k phase 1😢
