Dunno if you are still reading your comments but the bad smell and magic smoke came out of mine and lo and behold, exactly the same fault.
Thanks a lot for the post, new cap ordered soldered in and scope working again. As a matter of interest you could have bought either that scope or a Ford cortina when they both were new😁

Hi Andrew, sorry to hear that yours blew out as well. Glad to hear that you've replaced it successfully! I can still smell that blown capacitor to this day... very stinky!

    Good!
The problem always comes from the capacitors :(
    Thanks for sharing!

doing well! could you show a short tutorial on how generative design works with fusion 360 and ann example of what you can make and answer
    1. Do you need cloud computing or can you use your own computer to compute the designs (even if it would take a long time) (how long will it take for a pre good pc)
    2. How does the obstacles and parameters work how flexible is it
    3. what are the parts no one tells you about generative design and what it cant do and what it can do thanks!

Common occurrence for those RIFA mains suspression capacitors to fail on all sorts of older equipment. They more than any other are famous for doing that. I change them now on sight.
