Fun fact, Route 20 extends all the way across the US, ending at an intersection with highway 101 in Newport, Oregon.
Except for a break at Yellowstone.
I heard that it begins in Oregon. (source: Doug Kerr's Gribblenation Roadcast Episode on US 20 in Oregon)
@@markmoore8399 well considering that some of the roads that became designated as route 20 in Eastern Mass predate the annexation of the Oregon territory, I think it's fair to say the origin is Boston
wait seriously?
I am originally from Worcester but in 1986 we moved to Oregon and both places we lived were right of route 20!
I am Born & Raised in Worcester, Massachusetts now living in Alabama. It’s great to see Route 20. I’ve never been on 20 Past Marlboro. I always take the pike or Route 9 into Boston. It looks nice
How Long Did It Take For U Move All The Way From Worcester,Massachusetts To Alabama 20 Year’s Ago
"Brighton Ave." is actually *Commonwealth Ave.* all the way to 8:40 Packard's Corner, and it doesn't become North Beacon Street until you get to Cambridge Street at 11:41
Wow, I remember driving this route coming home from working in Boston when the MassPike and Route 9 were traffic nightmares. I have a friend who lives on Concord St in Marlborough and turning down her street to visit her from Route 20 coming back from work was a normal thing for me. And taking it all the way home to Worcester was easy because I’d turn off the southwest cut off come up Lake Ave and head home.
Also I had forgotten once your in Worcester County how many different names Route 20 goes by!! And when you in Oregon it's called highway 20!
Thanks for showing me this route , I'll drive next yr on my summer drive out with wifey ( happy new year boss )
Just a small suggestion. Turn off auto-focus and set the focus on infinity if possible. That way it won't auto-focus on the raindrops on the windshield.
Nice ride along us highway 20 west from Boston MA to Worcester MA
US 20 / MA 30 is Commonwealth Ave. US 20 becomes North Beacon Street after MA 30 leaves the concurrency at Packards Corner.
Nah, it's Brighton Ave from Packard's Corner until Cambridge Street at 11:41
@@edwardmiessner6502 I stand corrected. Thanks!
I'm sure that the citizens of Shrewsbury might be shrewd, but the name of that town is not Shrewdsbury, starting at 1:19:10. Thank goodness you weren't on US 202 in Shutesbury; who knows what would have happened. :)
US 20, MA 2 and MA 30 in Boston must have been changed recently. If so, Wikipedia needs to be updated on all three routes.
How have developed countries been able to pave almost all their roads and developing countries can’t, it always baffles me
There were quite a few MA 20 shields in this video...
I noticed 2 of them, at 12:00 and 35:19. The Massachusetts portions of US 7, US 44 & US 202 also have erroneous MA highway shields in places. Additionally, MA 3A at Exit 20 has an erroneously signed US 3 at the southbound onramp.
@@edwardrasmussen3465 It should be US 3 all the way to the Cape. Did you know Daniel Webster not only lived in New Hampshire but also in Marshfield, Mass.?
@@edwardmiessner6502 Yes I did. I played bridge at some senior center or recreation center on Webster St. in Marshfield back in the early 1980s. BTW, I'm originally from Plymouth MA.
On your initial topic, neither AASHTO nor MassDOT will make MA 3 part of US 3, at least in our lifetimes. That would be way too simple.
