I'm not a pro shop guy or even an impressive regional bowler. I'm just a fan of the game, but I like to think I've developed a decent eye for the phases of ball motion and how to differentiate good strikes from lucky strikes. So, take what I'm about to say with whatever grain of salt you deem appropriate: There's something different and special about this ball. I've seen it in other videos, and I'm seeing it here too. Any ball can send 10 back with the right entry angle and momentum. Any ball can also split the 8-9 given the right conditions. But, the way this ball strikes is different - watch the pins. When the Ghost and Crimson strike, they send pins bouncing around a lot, sometimes quite high in the air. That's not necessarily bad, but then watch the Onyx. The pins stay mostly low, and the wide bases of the pins collide with one another more than fly up in the air like with the Crimson and Ghost. I want to say that's a byproduct of the Onyx stabilizing so well that the coefficient of restitution (I think that's the right term?) of the pins is all but irrelevant. The ball doesn't hit them and send them flying. It shoves them into each other, and that takes advantage of the relatively small space between the pins around their bases. Hits like that give you excellent pin action and miss room for days. Again, I'm no one special, so maybe I'm wrong. But I'm pretty confident people are going to miss this ball badly when it's gone.
This is everything that the Jackal Ambush was supposed to be, and even better. The Ambush was very disappointing and from everything I've heard from those who already have it, this ball is going to be a monster. 😊
the Ambush was a huge ball, but IMO the cover was just too early and slow. Because it was such a slow response cover, it became very niche. It was amazing when that was what you needed or for certain playing styles, but this Onyx is going to be so so much more usable for so many more people
That 4-9 blowout was sick!
I love the shape this ball makes. Appears to read the lane very well. I'm excited to see how it performs at my local's house shots.

Bad ass
I’m looking for a strong hook set shape, to try to replace my trident horizon, what’s the closest there is shape wise?
25 out to 5 is "keeping it in front of you"????? 🤣
