Literally and my school had Santa shop a couple of weeks before Christmas break so we could get our family and friends gifts if we wanted but they weren’t the best quality of course but it made us feel special lol book fairs were the best though still have a lot of the stuff still
Yeah, true. However, for some kids it's not really what they wanted but what they could afford. Books were hella pricey compared to the trinkets. It's nice when parents give a little money to their kiddos. ❤ to all struggling parents.
Same, I would do the same. I remember in middle school I bought this fortuneteller that was DIY. So, you put it together yourself. It had batteries and it lit up. It had a picture of a guy with a turban on it and it was made of paper. It basically looked like a little mini pinball machine and it had five answers on it. You would ask a question and it would light up the answer. I remember thinking it was so cool and how much joy it brought to my life. I was so popular at lunch. I loved that book fairs didn’t just have books, they also had toys and fun games. Book fairs were the best.
I helped at those when my daughter was the age for them. She wanted every book and read them as fast as she could. There was no discretionary household money, lol. But she had to buy a few silly accessories every time, too.
Lol, that's about it! 😆 I try to encourage my son to get age appropriate books. He always gets the weirdest stuff--a build your own safe book, an invisible ink book, posters, pens, bookmarks, etc.
Jitco to be getting wjn Izabella RV c iv for sure eeee you can get the truck back e and the boys need a new one for the kids and I will e you too you can do it again that way you have been in a relationship for e weeks now but I'm not going out with my mom for a few minutes to catch up on my way to get my truck back to you and I have to get back to the store and get it from the kids and then jchksnzjgx off then I want to be in the morning and it's a good time and I will have to go out to you when I can find it funny how would I be interested but I think 🤔
My moms deal was that she would pay for any books I wanted from the fair. If I wanted any fidget toys I used my own money (from birthdays, allowance, etc)
I miss the book fair, how much fun it was picking out a book. Trying to bugget so you could get as much with your money as possible. My favorite was the eraser phones and copying my parents when I was in elementary school. How I miss those days 😢
Oh man, how I miss the book fair. The fondest memory I have of school was in about 1st-3rd(?) grade at the book fair when the first Twilight movie was really blowing up. Twilight posters and books everywhere hahah. Those were some of the best times of my life. I’m almost 22 now and I wish I could experience the excitement of something fun going on at school again. Thanks Mr. Montzingo :)
Lol as an avid reader and an artist, and with a daughter who is showing signs of being the same (she’s 5), we’re both gonna geek out when it’s book fair time. 😂 We’re gonna want all the knick knacks and books. I used to always come home with several bendy pencils and a new Ramona Quimby book, lol.
this dude ia super cool I would love to have a teacher like him don't let anyone tease you of your size you're perfect I have never had a book fair I don't live in America Canada and other like places that gave Wal-Mart but keep up the good work don't let anyone tease you !😁
My family was poor growing up, so I never had enough money to buy anything from the book fair. Id look around at these books, but never be able to buy one. One year, the school gave me the option of picking out a book, and let me keep it for free. As a kid, that meant a lot to me.
Oh man, i remember back when i was in 3-4th grade and every July the school would have a book fair and man i miss it so much Especially the novels! Like i would read them as if im one of the grown ups lmao 😭
I used to buy a couple new books every time. Big Nate, Captain Underpants, Diary of a wimpy kid, animorphs, goosebumps, 39 clues, etc. I even got the guide to all pokemon from generation 1 to generation 5. And when i found my love of my little pony, i bought my first my little pony comic, which was the best decision i made up to that point. Book fairs are the thing i miss most. I wish i could still go to them as an adult, but only kids and their parents/guardians can come and buy them
I genuinely miss my elementary scholastic book fairs like it was little heaven for me😭 Id always get like 3-5 books a year Literally remember when my mom bought me a whole set of 10 books from dork diaries still have them in a box in storage soo imma wait until im older so when I get my own home imma take my books with me and reread them Im literally going to have a small library in my house😂
the bag of change 🤣 One year my mom gave me $5 in rolled quarters because I didnt tell her about it until the night before and she didn't have any cash lol
I loved book fairs, until it got in the way of me borrowing a specific book. Our book fairs were always held in a library (probably because our school was small).
I remember book fairs but my mom was an alcoholic an she choose vodka over anything and everything I feel like crying cause I missed out on Santa work shop never bought any school wear never had a yearbook my mom was a piece of crap my friends payed the three dollars for me to get into the school dances
If I ever have kids, if by then they still do school fairs, I am giving my kid money for it. Whatever money I got for it was money I found or got from other people, I grew up in poverty and it was a luxury we often couldn't afford. I'm not saying I'll let my kids buy the entire fair, but at least enough to get a book from there or whatever else they'd like. I think the most I ever went to one was with $10, so I couldn't even buy a book. I don't want my kid to feel that sense of embarrassment or being left out, I'd want them to be able to buy a book if they want.
This is my first year working in an elementary school and they had the book fair I bought books for my daughter. However I picked them out cause I wanted them lol.
Luved book fairs and hated them at the same time cuz our books where just so expensive I remember 1 year I bugged my mom for the harry lottery book they had she had to write a check for it 😅😂 it was 50$ for 1 book smh
Every time I would get some kind of diary which anyone could open because everyone of them had the same lock/key and then fill in 5 page then forget about for 3 years😂😂😂
I think book fairs are the one and only thing I miss about school
Now there expensive.
£1 book token just got one today

That's literally every kids experience at a bookfair ever lol
As a kid I never got any small toys I just got books and sometimes a poster
Thats so true! You try to find a book but you end up buying a bunch of fidgets 😂
Yeah, true. However, for some kids it's not really what they wanted but what they could afford. Books were hella pricey compared to the trinkets. It's nice when parents give a little money to their kiddos. ❤ to all struggling parents.
I only bought one book and I bought like 50 posters and 200 types of pencills
Let’s be honest most of us went to the book fair but not for books
Lol I got a notebook and I still have it
So true lol nobody buys the books unless they have the LEGO figures inside lol
Yep. If you don’t have them you weren’t considered cool
I don't know why, but getting books at book fairs were always so fun. I used to get Animorph books, Goosebump books, etc...

I remember book fairs. Such great times in school, thank you
That's the truth. I always hope the parents don't get mad when they come home with all the crap instead of a book!

book fairs were the mini Christmases through the school year.
I loved book fair week. It just seemed magical to me like going to an actual fair for some reason.
Brandon, absolutely. Not sure why, but getting books at book fairs were so much more fun than going to places like Barnes and Nobles.

I wish book fairs would randomly pop up at public libraries- I would travel town to town for stickers and scented erasers

They even had video games on display, which was weird.
