pros and cons for each one(in my opinion) smile pros: 1. alot of options when it comes to abilities 2. great song 3. great hp gain 4. overall good dps 5. can one shot players who has the item "dead" applied (but still doent matter given the said player will just run away from you and kill you before you get to land a single hit on them) smile cons: 1. terrible without merge (Which merging is hard given people will hard target you the moment you take the smile out) 2. your location gets revealed once you merge. meaning people will be able to target you easier da capo pros: 1. great damage output (even without the movements) 2. great area of damage 3. imnunity to debuffs like fire and poison meaning you can use fire force for extra speed and defence(polish meal doesnt work) 4. great song 5. doesnt reveal your location. meaning people wont be able to know your location 6. funni easter egg while trying to use polish meal(had to mention it cus funny lol) da capo cons: 1. lack of ranged options in earlier levels 2. lack of abilities 3. finale having terrible damage output(it can hardly kill a regular player)
Da Capo is more of just a boost for your load out of you get enough melee kills for it, wanting you to use other items in combination with it’s aura to get kills.
One thing I want to mention: Da Capo synergizes phenomenally with health boosting items like the banana, because of it giving extra defence from movements rather than smile’s additional HP. Smile can have up to 500 health, but a movement 4 da capo with a +50 HP boost item has 470 effective health. It’s also why I feel that da capo is MUCH stronger in TC due to the Tank and Melee kits giving additional HP. Like a 290 health da capo has a mind boggling 725 effective health.
The 1v1 isn't even fair, Da capo is a slow tick dps and smile is a quick burst dps. A 1v1 like this would always result in the smile winning just by the hitstuns and ISoC

Just like how borrow works with upgradeable weapons da capo and smile should be immune to borrow as well. Also upgraded weapons like AWP, Mad Noob’s Shotgun, etc should be immune from instakills.
If smile and da capo had a pure 1v1, smile wins for sure, however if you take into account that your in a server with multiple other people, nearby players heal da capo, making it a much more difficult fight, putting it simply, smile is a good all rounder but da capo is very strong with crowds.

Da Capo arguably has a bigger chance of survival than Smile, I’ve seen it tank out an entire Cero Metralleta and survive several bobms whereas Smile gets deleted by those items

I think the winner should be both for ONE reason. It depends on not just a 1v1. But your play style! The guy using da capo should’ve played zoning passive, and defensively. Smile is meant for rushdoen so with da capo and its defense you can watch for smile to waste its moves THEN go into fighting it. If you run but keep close you get 15 damage from the movements. More importantly the fact that if you risk it, you can get a few hits before they use vomit because of hits run, then back away immediately. and if it comes down to finale, they have to be under 50 for it to work because they can run away. I feel da capo is great but so is smile, it’s good to play rushdown but not in all cases, I don’t remember if you can get da capo in ZS, but da capo would be way better because of risk of tongue users. You can still escape

Smile is just better because I've never been able to reach movement 3 with da capo It's way harder to kill WITH da capo than playing safe and absorbing dead bodies after players fight, plus the speed boost of smile is helping. Da capo you need a good loadout to stun and beat people in 1V1 or try and kill low HP player. Also you can unequip smile to be sneaky while da capo with just movement 1 and you can't hide anymore. Also smile has a better music and also a remix
I did a smile vs da capo fight with my friend once. With both max power (smile at 500 hp and da capo 4th movement), smile easily won. I think we did smile at 20 bodies so it could get vomit and have less damage and health vs da capo max, and it was close but smile still won. I think smile at 19 bodied would lose due to not having vomit and thus not having a 2nd stun ability. 20 bodies can also lose to 4th movement, but we both knew what we were doing so yeah. Edit: didnt know he did a 1v1while making this but my point still stands. Didnt know that da capos aura healed tho, thats cool. Smile is still better but ill give da capo the music side of things, 4th movement sounds really good and 2nd trumpet is better than smile imo
smile has the ability to heal completely on kill, has a max health of 500, and deals 60-110 damage every attack. Da capo has 140 max health, 60 defense, an aura that damages anyone nearby, and 40 damage every attack, as well as a finale which usually kills anyone nearby
this is actually true, i dont find da capo more powerfull because: no abilities expect movements which i dont care about. no health regen when killed a user. yet, even if someone was in the finale part, they would survive because damage is way too little as soon in the 1v1. meanwhile smile could just, be better than that when merged. overall smile is the main winner here
solo performance going to da capo makes no sense because -smile has a 2 shot m1 combo -can do up to 300 damage with isoc -vomit can stun -more hp -extreme healing from bodies -easier to get the powerful version of it
Da Capo is much better at performing the job of actually being a melee weapon while Smile is basically dead weight until Merge, but you have to actually get the finishing blow on people to get to Movement 1, but you just have to eat the body with Smile, which allows you to kill them and then sweep in for the corpse. Movement 4 Da Capo heavily falls off compared to maxed out Smile, ISoC is so much better compared to ticks of damage, especially with the stun, it basically gives zero chance to escape before you die. the only thing that Da Capo has over Smile (other than the bade damage ofc) is that it doesn't need nearly as many kills to reach its peak, making it very good midway into a match, but to even reach 40 bodies your gonna like, a third of the match.
Tbh in my own view da capo is personally good -Good resistance (60% defense, fire, poison immunity) -Decent healing ability (healing per hit with scythe) -Might be effective against Smile Downsides: -Took a while to reach its max capabilities -AOE isn't strong as Smile -No stun
giving damage to da capo just feels insanely wrong. smile has much better dps and m1. solo performance also definitely should go to smile due to the walk speed buff and not actually needing kills since, and not arguably, smile merge is better than da capo movements
clearly they didnt give hitsun to da capo because of the clear overpowering abilities to a merged smile. movement4 vs a max hp and damage smile? depends on the player and the bodies near the smile at the same time smile is also op since every body absorbed = full hp but in a 1v1 i would have to go with movement 4 because the amount of damage a single hit does. if im correct on death the finale can possible do 100hp to the smile and smile has no defense, just a damage buff and hp so yes, da capo wins in a battle of hitboxes

I feel like taking melee hits from smile wasn’t worth getting a few weaker hits in
smile has the ability to heal completely on kill, has a max health of 500, and deals 60-110 damage every attack.
Da capo has 140 max health, 60 defense, an aura that damages anyone nearby, and 40 damage every attack, as well as a finale which usually kills anyone nearby

this is actually true, i dont find da capo more powerfull because:
no abilities expect movements which i dont care about.
no health regen when killed a user.
yet, even if someone was in the finale part, they would survive because damage is way too little as soon in the 1v1.
meanwhile smile could just, be better than that when merged.
overall smile is the main winner here

solo performance going to da capo makes no sense because
-smile has a 2 shot m1 combo
-can do up to 300 damage with isoc
-vomit can stun
-more hp
-extreme healing from bodies
-easier to get the powerful version of it

Da Capo feels more fun to me, and it can make some banger screenshots imo
Da Capo is much better at performing the job of actually being a melee weapon while Smile is basically dead weight until Merge, but you have to actually get the finishing blow on people to get to Movement 1, but you just have to eat the body with Smile, which allows you to kill them and then sweep in for the corpse. Movement 4 Da Capo heavily falls off compared to maxed out Smile, ISoC is so much better compared to ticks of damage, especially with the stun, it basically gives zero chance to escape before you die.
the only thing that Da Capo has over Smile (other than the bade damage ofc) is that it doesn't need nearly as many kills to reach its peak, making it very good midway into a match, but to even reach 40 bodies your gonna like, a third of the match.
The answer is you get one of them as a melee and borrow the other
I have been saying for months that da capo should be buffed like 1 kill gives you first movent 2 kills 2nd and so on also buff the hitboxes and hp
when smile got one body he'll get 10 hp da capo's fist movement is gonna give 15% defense at every time
Tbh in my own view da capo is personally good
-Good resistance (60% defense, fire, poison immunity)
-Decent healing ability (healing per hit with scythe)
-Might be effective against Smile
Downsides:
-Took a while to reach its max capabilities
-AOE isn't strong as Smile
-No stun

But tbh the weakest point of Da Capo is the first 3 movements

giving damage to da capo just feels insanely wrong. smile has much better dps and m1. solo performance also definitely should go to smile due to the walk speed buff and not actually needing kills since, and not arguably, smile merge is better than da capo movements

clearly they didnt give hitsun to da capo because of the clear overpowering abilities to a merged smile.
movement4 vs a max hp and damage smile? depends on the player and the bodies near the smile
at the same time smile is also op since every body absorbed = full hp but in a 1v1 i would have to go with movement 4 because the amount of damage a single hit does. if im correct on death the finale can possible do 100hp to the smile and smile has no defense, just a damage buff and hp so yes, da capo wins in a battle of hitboxes

In zombies mode, da capo is much better for facing players with smoker or hunter, if these zombies hit you with the skill, death is certain, but not with da capo

i think da capo solosurvivibilty still sucks because 1: on any map with environmental hazard, there are way too many weapon that can overpower da capo and ranged weapon exist
