Amazing review! How little subscribers you have blows my mind! You deserve so many more. I would really like to see the E thirteen TRS carbon wheels compared to the ENVE wheels. Apparently they are similarly stiff and I am wondering if it would be worth the extra thousand $ for the ENVE.
Hey thanks! Share with all your friends I guess. We are a fairly new channel so that might have something to do with it. If I can get my hands on a set of E thirteen wheels I’ll make a bonus episode.
For sure. If I had them on my bike permanently, I’d make adjustments to tire pressure and suspension. For the sake of the test though I wanted to keep everything the same to eliminate variables.
If you want the lightest wheels out there the 5 series is going to be lighter and faster. If you are at all concerned about flats and traction I think the 630s are still plenty light, but offer a much more comfortable ride and better protection. They are fast wheels.
Great review thank you. I’m torn between the M630 and the M635 as a guy in his 40’s I don’t go huge but like to go fast on my local trails with lots of climbing. Which would choose and why?
I’d probably try to go with a softer setup on a hardtail. Stiff wheels on a hardtail and going to give you a rougher ride. I think the AM30 is a bit softer. The Zipps certainly are. Some of the i9 wheels are too.
I've ridden them on a few bikes. The Ibis wheels are great. I have zero complaints. The Enve m630s are pretty outstanding though. I haven't ridden anything quite like them.
Such great content, presentation, and trails. However, compared to other channels, your POV video quality is a bit sub-par. I see a lot of compression artifacts and it's usually quite washed-out. Might a camera upgrade be in your future?? Thanks for the video!
Hey thanks! I’m shooting on a Hero 7 so it’s pretty up to date. A lot of it is RUclips compression. I’m working on the best export setting to avoid a lot of quality loss.
@@bikersedge Cool. Sounds good. I don't know too much about compression techniques. I can imagine that there's a hundred ways to do it and RUclips will murderize many of them. The picture looks crisp. plenty of definition... but pretty heavy with noise and blocky junk. I used to live in SLC. It's super fun to recognize some of the trails you ride. That said, others are barely recognizable. I used to ride in Park City around 2000. yeah... it seems COMPLETELY different now. Antelope Island looks sort of FUN now! That used to suck total balls. Is Pipeline still a thing? I think you recently pooped out around Bobsled? or maybe near there? Gah. Memories fade.
I haven't spent enough time of 730s to really make that call. If you rode hard 90% of the time, the 730s with the rim strip would probably be worth the extra weight. For most folks, the 630 will be plenty stout.
I am building up a Ripley ... Sadly I don't live in Utah or I would be working with your shop! (Btw, Thanks for all the video's! Your reviews are making me thing I need a Spur instead of a Ripley) Background - I have a Ripmo, and I have the Ibis S35 wheels, they have been great, no complaints. I also have a much older bike (Turner Czar) that I am running an ENVE AM wheel set. Those have been great also. In regards to the new Ripley I am building up, any suggestions in regards to a wheel choice? I have narrowed my choices down to the ENVE 630's and the Ibis S28's. The Ibis wheel set didn't make it into your wheel comparison, unless I missed a video, so i was hoping you had some insight. Thanks in advance!
The Ripley is going to be a blast. I personally don’t think there’s a better wheelset out there for general trail riding than the Enve M630. It’s fast, light and snappy. The ibis wheels are good and I’ve had them on a few bikes with zero problems. They just don’t have the wow factor like the 630s.

Biker's Edge That’d be great, thanks!
I have these wheels and had to tweak (a click or two) my fork settings to adjust for their stiffness
I curious what settings you adjusted for my knowledge. Thanks
For sure. If I had them on my bike permanently, I’d make adjustments to tire pressure and suspension. For the sake of the test though I wanted to keep everything the same to eliminate variables.
Would you say that the 630 would be more than adequate on an SB100 for marathon XC, or even XC racing or are they too heavy for that? Thanks

@@bikersedge great! Thank you for the feedback.

630. They work really well with the most common tires between 2.3-2.5. The 635s are the same series but designed around mid plus tires.
Biker's Edge brilliant, thank you for the quick reply and just the answer I was looking for. 630’s it is 😊👍
@BikersEdge I know this video is old, but are the M630 still relevant today? For SB115 what would you recommend m630 or m525?
They’re still relevant. I’d personally run the 630s on the SB115. They’re more trail. Less XC. Kinda like the bike.
Gotcha….ASR - M525, what bike /riding would you recommend moving up to the m70? Enduro bike like SB160?
Yeah. That would be some good logic.
Sorry if missed it, but do you think these wheels would do well on a trail hardtail? Or should I go a bit beefier, to maybe something like the am30?
I’d probably try to go with a softer setup on a hardtail. Stiff wheels on a hardtail and going to give you a rougher ride. I think the AM30 is a bit softer. The Zipps certainly are. Some of the i9 wheels are too.
Another great vid.
Why thank you!
Onyx Vesper or i9 Hydra hubs for the Enve M630’s?
I haven't tried the Onyx hubs. Can't really say. The idea behind them is solid. The i9s are pretty sweet though.
Have you tried Ibis' S28 i9 carbon wheels? Curious how it compares to 35s and these. Weights are pretty close to these.
I've ridden them on a few bikes. The Ibis wheels are great. I have zero complaints. The Enve m630s are pretty outstanding though. I haven't ridden anything quite like them.
Have ‘em, love ‘em!
They’re great wheels! Really make the bike come alive.
Great video. Love your shop too. Which trail is this?
Hey thanks for the support! This is Bobsled in SLC.
@@bikersedge Thanks. I've heard plenty of people talk about this trail. Now I understand why.
@@GrgMRnlds86 It's a lot of fun. It can get pretty wild at times.
Ordered some, was worried this type of riding needed the 730s
I was in the same boat as you. I thought I'd prefer 730s over 630s. I can now say that 630s are my favorite wheels.
Would you recommend M630 or M730 for a rider over 200 lbs?
If we are talking 201 lb then yeah the 630s are solid enough. If we’re talking 299 lb I’d be leaning towards a burliest/stiffer wheel at that point.
What tires are u running?
Oh man. It’s been a long time since I filmed this. I want to say Minion DHF front and DHR II rear. Pretty standard setup across all three wheelsets.

You guys have such a good shop I'm very lucky to be 5 minutes away. What do you think between the 630 and 730 Enve wheels? Bit beefier?
