Story 1: it is NOT okay to do that. If they still had a problem, they should’ve talked it out with you before the wedding. You paid A LOT for your special day. You’ve been dreaming of this probably since you were a child (and even if not, weddings in general are a huge deal and are very important to most people). It would be such an understatement to call them jerks but honestly no other words come to my mind. You’d have the right to cut off contact with them at this point considering they never treated you well anyway. I mean, to strip off a huge hall off of decorations within a mere hour and to make most people leave the wedding, that takes serious effort. And all the effort for what? To absolutely ruin their daughters special day? I doubt any loving parent would do that. They clearly had time to think this through too and wasn’t just an impulse out of anger.
