My first trip was 3 days and 365 miles on a 125cc Chinese bike, was fantastic. I learnt so much, you gain experience by doing, and do small trips to learn! From bad weather riding to luggage loading , any trip is good - get out there and do it. Does not have to be to miles and miles to be an epic adventure.
I agree, a few sayings to live by 1. Nearly everything bold I have done in my life has been easier than I thought and I had wished I had done it earlier. 2. What one man can do, another man can do. 3. Better to regret something you did, than something you didn't do. 4. At age 72 it's adventure before dementia. So our winter trip to Thailand 2023/24 we are going to ride to Malaysia and maybe on to Singapore, though that may be too far. Me and the missus on our Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and minimum luggage, I watch all your videos..... and can't stay home.
I bought a mid size ADV before I got my licence. Passed my test and a week later I went touring around Europe for 3 weeks alone. 11 Countries, 4000 miles, famous mountain passes, biker routes and in all weathers. Some days was just raining non stop. I took my time, I wasn't pushing the bike or myself over the limit and did the whole trip safely. Best adventure I have ever had.
I started riding in February last year, I hadn't ridden more than 200 miles in a day. Then this spring I went 8200 miles across the US and back over 45 days. Just load up and go.
Pawlin is right! I did a 4 weeks trip through former Yugoslavian countries 1 month after I got the motorbike license. The motorbike was an old and heavy naked bike. It was long before gps or smartphone, with just a paper map I got for free from a local car assistance club. It was challenging on some stages but unforgettable great in the same time. Btw, I had the same luggage system pawlin took with him on his first trip 😂
I did the motorcycle driving licence mainly because I watched Pavlin's videos and got crazy about motorcycle traveling. It was 2.5 years ago. Now I already have 3 trips behind me, over all about 6000 kilometres. Mainly through the Alps on and off road, France, UK. 1st time I had about 65 litres of luggage. Then dropped down to about 55, incl. tent, sleeping bag etc. You learn as you go as Pavlin says. So yes, anyone can do it. Any time is good to start. First just watch some of these videos, benefit from somebody else's knowledge and experience and then just go for it. By the way on tiger 900 rally pro, excellent bike, but almost any bike can do it if you are not planning too many gravel roads.
I follow many adventure riders on RUclips, but none are as simple, honest and direct as you, Pavlin. And that makes you one of a kind. I hope that one day we will roam the Carpathian mountains together 🤝
Pavlin has such a persuasive way of delivering how awesome message that he makes you feel uncomfortable not being on a motorcycle trip with just a screwdriver and some tissues for spares and supplies.
I was still on my learners permit and had only 500 km on the bike when I did my first trip. 2 weeks, 5500 km down the eastern US, to the Tail of the Dragon. That on a 2009 VStrom 2009. Only point I would stress, go with a buddy. That’s what I did and he helped me get properly started. And following him, I did learn a lot like choosing the people lane, break points, …
I started long distance trips on motorcycle by riding to a city 150 kilometers from where I stay with only a backpack filled with minimum stuff, I really enjoyed it & remembers all the details like it was yesterday... Although so many things was missed 😅 up, but still unforgettable trip.
My first motorcycle trip was after only 1 month of driving motorcycle. With people I met first time. In the country I haven't visited before. High up in mountains in India - above 5300m. Without any particular plan. I didn't know anything about fixing motorcycles. I had my first crash. This trip was the best I ever had. 3 weeks without any ideas where I will be in the next 3 days and with so much new for me! A lot of things didn't go smoothly but I think I got a lot of experience. The only thing that stops me today is my family, I don't want and can't live them for longer than a few days now. I wish I can go to the trip like this at least once again.
I bought my first motorcycle after got a license in 2022. I rode it for a month, though not in a daily basis and mostly in streets, not out of town. But I wanted to go to a big trip so hard, so after a month riding I decided to go on a test ride for a day, I done 500km that day and it was awesome. 1 week later I went on a pretty big trip for almost a month and 6000km. It was awesome. I got a lot of experience and so much fun. That doesn't mean that I wasn't worried in my trip about lack of experience and so on, but it was like a leap of faith for me. After 2 seasons of riding I still know that there are a lot to learn, but I also know that I would regret so much if I stayed at home
About two weeks ago, I returned from my initial "major" motorcycle journey, traveling from Croatia to Morocco. I spent 27 days exploring Morocco before heading back to Croatia, covering a total of 5800 kilometers. I purchased my bike (a Royal Enfield Himalayan) a year ago, resuming riding after a 32-year hiatus. Before this adventure, I had undertaken only two two-day trips within Croatia. The key is to take that first step; you can do it without a doubt.
As always you are right. I go step by step at the moment with preparation for a big trip without previous experience. I travelled all my life for work and for holidays; i used cars, planes, ultralight airplane, trains, buses and some small motorcycles during weeks in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Earlier i did motobike trip from Switzerland to East Germany and Czech Rupublic. Now i am a happy retiree with a lot of time to go on a trip. I plan several ambitious rides and i'm pretty sure i will succeed. No time pressure, money is what it is. Main goal is to do as much as possible, beeing a careful rider. Of course, i don't overestimate my ability to ride BUT i m listening to all advices and experiences from others. One last remark: sitting on a sofa at home doesn't bring any experience and is not my philosophy of living. Just turned 67 years young.😂
Dear Brother -I've not left a comment for all of your vids that I've watched but, believe me, I have have enjoyed and learned from every minute of them. To watch videos without bullshit is very rare in the over-macho m/cycle world but thankfully your vids tell it how it is and give plenty of realistic encouragement. I'm returning to bikes after 60yrs on and off them (from 50cc to 1000cc) at the ripe old age of 77 on a 10-yr-old 125cc and am very excited about the upcoming Spring, giving me a couple of months to get to know and 'befriend' my latest bike. Thank goodness I didn't sell my bike luggage, helmet and gear when 'she who must be obeyed' banned me from riding at 65. The vid on rider comfort was especially helpful as I made a bit of a clown of myself when I collected it with gear changing up. I have already decided to raise the shift one or two notches on the spline . My predecessors must have ridden with their toes pointing down to make good shifts in the past. Accept my gratitude for your channel and may you always ride safe and sound. Wish me luck on my Zontes Tiger - named 'Tiger Lil'. Best wishes from Paul in the UK Midlands. PS: Once I get mobile on two wheels, my touring ambitions are not high. I hope to make a study of the variety of interesting roads in my beloved county of Staffordshire and hopefully make notes and put together a selection of good m'cycle routes incl our part of the Peaks. Who knows, eh?
Im ready to travel to Morocco in November. My second long trip after i visited Albania in August. Was so much fun and full of experience. Thank you for sharing us your travel experiences.
This is so so SO true! I got my licence last july, bought a '99 BMW F650ST, and through the rest of the season (until end of september) I did some 8.000km. It all started in the neighbourhood - and expanded to a fantastic week-long trip at a western part of my country (Norway) later that summer. Lots of local trips, and some further away - even for just a weekend. I totally agree with you regarding the "loading up way too much the first time(s) - but thankfully we learn from our doings :D
I agree with you. At the beginning I took a lot of things that were useless. Now, I travel light. I mostly do sports before going on a road trip ( especially the neck and nape ). Thanks for this video
I did a trip to Wales on my 125 last summer (over 500 miles) but I had done 600 miles and first service. Stayed in a pod rather than add camping struggles! Was brilliant fun. P.s I took a huge chain barely made it up some Welsh hills after a large lunch.
I love your style, there's no excuse. Just do it, that will change you for ever. I still remember each raod i did with the bike, and when i got the blues, i remember them. Thanks for your energy

Hi! Could you please describe what shall I do to go from Poland to Vietnam to get all visas? How do you do it? Where do you organize your visa e.g. to Iran? In Germany/Bulgaria or in a country next to Iran?
Take the leap. hell , I went out of state for a 200 mile day trip. At 14 it was something to experience. My older friend rode his Goldwing to Florida and back, some 1400 miles in a weekend. hell yes I can do it. I've been out of state too. I can read a map and follow signs. For equipment I had nothing. A trout bag, which I still have, a pair of vise grips, an adjustable wrench and a squirt bottle of Golden Spectro chain lube. Hell, what else do you need. There was nothing else made to buy. In 1968 or so there wasn't shit for motorcycles. Modern riders have it made. They don't even have to think.
Can you please advice how to start travelling from country surrounded by enemies? I live in Israel, and the only way out is by the air. Some people managed to go with the motorcycle by sea to Greece, but it is the only destination and only one shipping firm does it. It is like firewall around the country, without exit. Becides that, in most pats of the world people will not like to see Israeli number on motorcycle. I already started to traveling here, but when the country 600km long, you cannot make long trip. Is there a way to travel abroad? Thank you.
I'm a beginner and I would like to buy a Tenere 700 but I'm not sure if its the right thing to do or should I go for a small bike I would like your opinion. I'm 6 foot tall
Hey i luv your channel, can i ask a question? i am trying to travel from Europe to South India on limited funds but i cannot figure out the costs for the Carnet de Passage in Iran, Pakistan and India? I wonder could you help? thank you
I'm disappointed to be honest with that answer as it says nothing. Are you saying the Carnet de Passage is a deposit that i get returned upon leaving the country? Which authorities, the embassy in my country or Iran, Pakistan and India when I get there? Do I have to pay you for this information?
@@motorcycleadventures can I ask do you pay at the boarder or in the country example Iran? Pakistan and India? Is the deposit refundable meaning do you get it back? How does one estimate the price before travel? if I'm riding the exact same bike and year of bike as yours? I do apologise as I've searched all over the internet for this information and nothing is clear.
I never drove a bike with gears before. I flown to Delhi, India and rented a Royal Enfield Himalayan and drove all Rajasthan, down south to Mumbai, Goa and back. All in 3 months with 0 experience. Anyone can do it.

Thank you.
Fly away! You don't have any other options.
I wonder could you help? thank you
Ask your authorities. It is different in every country and the price of the deposit depends on the price of your motorcycle.
I'm disappointed to be honest with that answer as it says nothing. Are you saying the Carnet de Passage is a deposit that i get returned upon leaving the country? Which authorities, the embassy in my country or Iran, Pakistan and India when I get there? Do I have to pay you for this information?
Deposit and fee in the country where the motorcycle that you are going to ride is registered.
@@motorcycleadventures can I ask do you pay at the boarder or in the country example Iran? Pakistan and India? Is the deposit refundable meaning do you get it back? How does one estimate the price before travel? if I'm riding the exact same bike and year of bike as yours? I do apologise as I've searched all over the internet for this information and nothing is clear.
if a person from the island nation of Bulgaria can ride a motorcycle across the ocean over choppy waves to see the world you can too!
Cool!
👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I never drove a bike with gears before. I flown to Delhi, India and rented a Royal Enfield Himalayan and drove all Rajasthan, down south to Mumbai, Goa and back. All in 3 months with 0 experience. Anyone can do it.
