Comparing the Arkfeld against dedicated flashlights, laser pointers, and UV's is like comparing a Leatherman multitool against a screwdriver, pliers, and knife. In my 64 years I've never seen a multipurpose tool that is better than a specific dedicated tool. But, the trade off is yes, you loose functionality of each tool on a multitool, but, you don't need to carry ten or more different tools. Same with the Arkfeld, it doesn't win in any of the three different light categories, but, it gets the job done while not having to carry three different lights.
As for the magnetic charger, I personally think it rocks!!! It doesn't take up hardly any room in my Alpaka sling bag.
I agree with you that you can't change out the battery in the Arkfeld, that does kind of suck.

You do not have to turn the Arkfeld off to change modes. Just flip the switch and it will activate whatever mode.

I upgraded from the standard arkfeld to the arkfeld Pro. I wanted the extra lumens and the laser. It is noticeably larger and heavier so that's something to keep in mind. The pro has an extra 300 lumens and on low has a much longer run time.
