I agree that a locking hitch pin is important to prevent the box from being taken. However, I believe the box is still at risk because the swing-away hitch has a bolt that can be released, allowing someone to take the box. Isn't that right?
The heat shields are available directly from Stowaway. They are recommended for all rear exit exhaust. The Durango has dual exhaust right under the box, which is why we installed them. Thanks for watching.
@@ketchum6455 --No they aren't. Heat shields for both passenger and drivers side are currently $60 total. So, you might find it easier to swap out your exhaust tails for a new downward pointing pair. (Just received my Stowaway box yesterday and am currently installing.)
