Mollusc in Tyrol! I'd never heard that one so had a listen. Good Lord Almighty. However, Grotesque itself serves one up too, the mysteriously titled WMC-Blob 59. Do you think it's up there with Mollusc in terms of drivel?@@hilaryjohnson2386
The Fall have enriched my life. Only found one of their songs about 2 years ago. Completely fuckin obsessed. I’ve never been honestly suicidal and now I know I never could be because you can’t listen to Mark when you’re dead (or can you?). You Brit’s sure had a treasure.
New face in hell is good fun :) Embodiment practices of Geoffrey de Graff have helped overcome much of my childhood trauma PTSD like reactivity...still have enough to not get lazy...found fall, joy division and Leonard Cohen at University in 1982 new Zealand ... didn't know why I loved it so much... authentic expression of pain and creative brilliance...12yrs later found Thai Style mindfulness from Geoffrey de Graff...no grift... nice balance of Buddhism and Joy Division keeps me pretty balanced....
I saw Mark having a drink at The New Oxford in Salford once he was minding his own business, he was with a friend who left but he stayed having a pint of lager on his own, he seemed deep in thought, nobody pestered him he blended in with the pubs surroundings, I passed him on the way to the toilet at one point.

The fall helped me through tough dark times and I'm forever grateful for yess Marc of course but the whole band with so much feeling for sound and spheres in music. So many songs that just by listening I step into a new world,in a weird way it's a weird trip which feels so like a safe place ,because if one couple of people can create music like those guy's, my guess, everything is possible....my deepest respect for Marc e Smith and his fellow sufferers lol.
They helped me too through some very dark times. I was a fall fan for years but only met Mark once in about 2010. I got the chance to tell him and thank him. I’d been told he could be awkward but he was so nice and respectful to me and he was genuinely more interested in what I did (I’m a joiner/furniture maker) . He couldn’t have been nicer. I really miss going to see them
Possibly their best song? There's so many people who've been inspired by MES, by his attitude and creativity. I'm planning to write another book this year, which might not be much good but for what it's worth I doubt it would be possible had I not served my time when I was young listening to the Fall where I grew up in the deepest countryside when the mainstream music and everything else was crap

We were already not going to hear anything like this ever again.
But at least we have this. And some other stuff.
The Fall was possibly the band of greatest extremes ever. Capable of sheer
utter genius and absolute unforgivable drivel.
DRIVEL?
Drivel, you know, crap.@@horizonsfluidline
That's funny,and I really love this band.
Mollusc in Tyrol.I would defy any Fall fan not to call that track drivel.

Thats a very nice message
As a yank, I've learned more euro history from MES than school
God Americans that refer to themselves as yanks...
Do you think the french would call themselves 'frogs'?
That's what Parisians call the rest of the French, isn't it?

rip mark e smith, the last true punk
Nope Never a punk. They started just after. No punk bands wrote more than one song of note.
Pretty damn close to perfection.
'His brother threw acid in his face ' prophetic as always
Just love it. Thank you.
hope The Fall will rise again
Me too!
they have ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
They did but it would turn out wrong.
Shift-ah!
the north will rise again
it did today mate!
It did indeed, and the Guardianistas (who used to pretend to like us) hate it....
Not in 10,000 years.
Too many people cower to criminals,
and the government's crap...
And once again it did last month!
MES was the English Social Historian of his generation. This track resonates to this day, as the North is 'levelled down' by Tory Con-men and women

The Fall had made them sick
A man with butterflies on his face

Revenge for Culloden dead

But it would turn out wrong

Genius! A psychoeography of a time after the rising. Some might say a Brexit type uprising by the downtrodden.
