Interesting info about how to address the ruler of Egypt. From the Qur'an, during Joseph pbuh times, they're called King. During Moses pbuh times, they're called Pharaoh. Modern Egyptologist confirmed this.
Additional info on the story of the cow. When Moses pbuh asked for a cow, any cow, sick, thin, old cow will do. But his people keep on pestering him for specifics. In the end, they have to pay owners of the cow equivalent to its weight in gold! Moral of the story: if your Prophet asked you to do something, just do. A precautionary tale to the sahaba.
prophet yusuf a.s. didnt get promoted for no reason or "some how," he was promoted because he had the ability to interpret dreams, this was a gift he was given from Allah swt. as u know in old times people with special abilities or poets and so on, were looked at as extraordinary people. thus because prophet yusuf a.s. dream interpretations were so accurate, the kind saw him as trustworthy and useful individual and from there he first was promoted to in charge of work force and resources, he was given a position of great power.

That period of 300 or 309 years of sleeping of the 'People of the Cave' is easy to calculate, and it is one of the miracles of Qur'an. Lunar year is 354.37 days on average and solar year is 365.25 days on average. That will give you 109,500 days (309 yrs lunar); 109,575 days (300 yrs solar), difference of 75 days. But some times the lunar year would do a little bit more than 354.37 days. This will bring difference even smaller than 75 days. Also 109,575 / 354.37 = 309.2107 which means 300 yrs days in solar divided by 354.37 days in a lunar year is 309 yrs, 2 months and about 2 weeks. Therefore, 300 is solar, while 309 is lunar. Also because Arab use lunar years in their calculation and people around Turkey and Europe (where the even took place) mainly use solar calendar, that's why Qur'an mentioned both timings.
Yeah it's in the hadit though.
Surah Kahf said- "Some say they sleeped for 309 years, but only Alllah knows how long they did". Some calculations have been made by historians based on the two rulers of each time period when they went in the cave and the 2nd when they woke up, it was estimated to be roughly 196 years. That's when some people started questioning Quran, but it's clear that Quran didn't support the 309 years that everybody used to believe. And those who are talking about hadith, show me 1 sahih hadith where it mentions the time period.
Qur'an only mentions what people believed and they believed both these years and it also tells Allah knows best so that simply mean incorrect.Its not a miracle bro its a signas far people are still speculating.

As a Christian, we studied all these stories on Sunday School. What's interesting is, we were told with a whole different perspective.
Yeah the Bible and Quran share a lot of stories just with different details and perspectives on them.

The story of Yousef (AS) is my favorite story, he slept one day and told his dad he had a dream that the moon and stars were prostrating to him, his father knew he was a Prophet, his brother got jealous and wanted to get rid of him. They said Yousif(AS) has 90% of the worlds beauty or more, he was so handsome that he walked into a room of women and they were cutting fruit and when they saw him they cut their fingers(the lines on your fingers)

You missed SO many important details, especially with Yusuf (A.S.)'s story 😳 You skipped over his ability to interpret dreams, which is what helped him get out of prison.
Actually the king had a adviser and Yusuf A.S told the king his wife advances on him and the adviser said if the top is ripped from the front he made advances if ripped from the back she made advances and ofc it was ripped from back and she was so embarrassed by the gossiping females and that's why she made them come over and cut fruit part to proof how good looking he was

Dhulqarnain is a ripoff of the syriac alexander romance which was published a few years before as a propaganda to compare Heraclius to Alexander after is successful raid into Persia that triggered the end of the great war. The word quran itself is syriac and it appears the core of it was roughly translated from syriac christian texts into arabic when the Arabs converted to christianity while working for the Romans as mercenaries. This is also why about 20% of the quran arabic is basically gibberish and very hard to understand.
