You'll leave by 6 if you're lucky. If not, 7 or 8 is common. And be prepared to work over weekends depending on which department you are posted in. Performance is everything here. Dont come to rbi thinking you'll be relaxing. If you want to rise up the career ladder, then be prepared to work hard, keep yourself updated always, and go beyond your call of duty. All the best!

In RBI you have to give written exams if you will be able to pass then you have to face a interview pannel (where there is also nepotism) then after qualifying that interview then you will be promoted and your performance will also be checked...so there is no chance of time bound promotion..but in Civil service u will get a time bound promotion so.. If you are interested in finance and Economics want to pursue your career in this field and want handsome salary on then try to join RBI Grade B..Civil service has it's own glamour it's true the salary is not good but you will be much respected by society in Civil service..RBI managers are normal citizens with no administrative power in public life..And moreover RBI job is not a Govt. Job but a highly paid corporate job
