Its surprising to come back to what was effectively a drought outside, not what you were expecting to see. Locally the greenhouse maintains a lot of moisture so very few horror stories in there 👍
Yeah thankfully, I was only away for just over a week this time, so it wasn't too bad. No chance of a repeat this week lol. I think we'll be lucky to see any sun at all 😂. Yes, the greenhouse did seem to hold in the humidity quite well, which must have helped.
We are only having a maximum of 20°C (68°F) here at the moment, very cloudy and wet. Not ideal for my warm loving tropical plants lol 😂. Thanks for stopping by!
Glad to see most of your plants are ok. I was away for 10 days last summer and lost tons of fruit from the plants getting too dry including all of the Morton Citrange. I had someone come water at some point but there's nothing like doing it yourself lol
Haha, yeah I don't know if there is anyone I could trust to do the watering for me. They would probably either miss some plants or overwater them lol 😂
Yeah, drip irrigation would come in handy for situations like this. I haven't given it much thought in the past because it rains so much here normally that I don't have to worry about watering lol 😂
@@PeterEntwistle we also get lots of rain. But I have my potted plants connected to drip irrigation. This makes a big difference in hot days. It’s a simple diy project and not too expensive. My plants get about 1 cup to 1 letter per day, depending on drip head and plant size. This saves lots of time watering all these plants manually.
The plants in the greenhouse have done very well Peter, minus the avocado graft. Outside overall your plants especially the citrus and the guava and the paw paws all look very healthy. Did you give all the plants a good watering before you went away? How did your indoor plants get on?
Thanks, Louise. Yeah on the whole most things haven't done too bad. I didn't water much outside before I went away, but I did water everything well in the greenhouse 👍 Yes, the indoor plants were all fine thankfully.
Hey Thomas, I got the nectarine from Victoriana Nursery in winter, the variety is 'Lord Napier'. The peach I think was originally from Gardening Express back in 2020, the variety is 'Bonanza'. Thanks for watching 👍
It's not been doing too well. All the flowers were going mouldy and dropping off in the greenhouse so I moved it outside. No doubt I will need to trim it at some point 👍
Your bottlebrush is flowering beautifully while you were away.
Thank you, yeah it's looking very striking at the moment. It's one of my favourite flowering plants that I have in my garden.
Great to see most of your plants are doing well. I find it so difficult going away and thinking how my plants are doing 🤣.
Thanks, Joe. Haha, yeah the one of the main downsides of going away when you have lots of plants 😂
Always good to see your collection , thanks Peter
Thanks, Gordon! I'll try and film a few more updates soon 👍

Time to invest in drip irrigation. It’s pretty easy to setup. A simple system should be sufficient to keep your plants alive while you travel.

15:48 there it is!
Haha, yeah. It's grown even more since I recorded this! I can't believe how fast it's growing in the greenhouse now!
Hi there Peter can I ask where did you get the nectarine and peach from? Thanks thomas 🌞❤️🌱

Hi Peter, how’s your Owari Satsuma doing? Would you consider selling me some cuttings?
