      @patrickoverseas Hey, Patrik. Mike here. I'll be in Tirana the week of Nov 18th then in Skhoder for a couple of months. Maybe we can meet-up for a coffee or early morning walk? Am a fellow Yank, and have lived in SE Asia for 30 plus years. If interested let me know. Cheers!

      Hey Patrik - Any words of advice if taking a taxi from point to point in Tirana? Will be arriving at the bus station early Sunday morning and need to get to my AirbnB? Meters used and no hanky panky? Thanks

    I absolutely love the older areas. New is good, but, the history of older neighborhoods must be incredible to be told about. That is the type of neighborhood I would enjoy. Off the beaten path, so to speak. Thank you for the walk Patrick.

    I'm a new subscriber and loving your channel. Albania is on my list of countries I'm looking to retire to also. I'm working my way through your videos and did not see this addressed...I see Americans are allowed to stay in Albania for 1 year. Did you go through the process to apply for a residency permit or will you leave the country for 90 days (after your 1st year) and come back to begin another year in Albania?

    • @patrickoverseas
      @patrickoverseas  Месяц назад +3

      Thank you for the kind words and subscribing ! Im working on Residency. I beg people to see a visa Immagration lawyer. I did this the 2nd day i was here. You can also email a few lawyers from the states. Tax's and visas . I dont talk about much here because i feel you shouldnt listen to a you tuber on things so important. Worse then that, is listening to someone commenting on a youtube page. Plus somethings you look up online are just plain wrong or outdated. Its crazy some things people say is right when they are dead wrong. If i fail or cant get it before my 1 year is up, i will leave for 90 days and return. I will tell you this. So many are saying or they read you must apply with in the first 30 days of arrival here. Thats not true. They may have read that, but its not true

    It is going to be very hard to learn Albanian but if you are living in Pogrodec you will have to give it a try. I wonder if Google translate works well with Albanian? It is 52 degrees here in New York. It is wild that it is 48 degrees in Tirana. And maybe cooler in Pogrodec? It will be warmer in Saranda, hopefully. So cold winters and hot summers?

    • @patrickoverseas
      @patrickoverseas  Месяц назад

      Ive had no trouble speaking english in Pogradec. Yes google translate works here. Temperature here depends on the city. Winters in Tirana are mild. In korca very cold with a lot of snow. Summers in Pogradec are warm but not super hot. Winters cold..a little snow but not like korca.

    Maybe you have done a video about owning a car?

    • @patrickoverseas
      @patrickoverseas  Месяц назад

      No. I dont know about owning a car. We don't plan on getting one. But i have done a video on renting a car. You do not need a universal license. You just need a valid U.S. license to drive here. Not suspended or expired. So that's really good.

      @@patrickoverseas Hey Patrick. My wife says you MUST show you have auto insurance that covers liability as well as the US license. Did you have to buy a insurance policy to rent the car?

    • @patrickoverseas
      @patrickoverseas  Месяц назад +1

      @@alphadoom4970 she is right about insurance. I did a video on renting a car. Also if you did have a accident, even a fender bender you cant return the car without a police report of the accident. For full explanation look for that video i did. Also you can get insurance from the rental place. AND the place told me you must rent the car for a minimum of 3 days
