I have the identical engine in a 1972 Chevelle; yeah, it's thirsty. 7mpg but I drive it 1000 miles or less in a year's time so who cares other than AOC. Has that same nasty lope that every gearhead loves. Yeah, it's fast but not ridiculously fast. 10:1 compression street engine, designed to run cool all day on premium unleaded.

I had 'Cherry Bomb' mufflers with the 3 inch pipes all the way back to the rear bumper & yes, I was on a first name basis with the local PoPo! This was circa 1978-1980 so very much OG! I've also always been a small block girl. My Camaro had a 350 popped 30 over with 12: 1 pistons & a {then called} full inch lift cam! 12 bolt posi with 4:11s in the rear so great off the line, but screwed in the real estate department! A nearly head on collision with a 4X4 Ford pickup on Oct. 29, 1980 put an end to that era! Thank you again for sharing the goodness of this beautiful car with the rest of us! Rock on!
What mufflers are on the car? I have a '70 Nova with a pump gas 540" Dart block motor. With the Super 44's it's awfully loud! I have a 02 Camaro w/a built LS and some small, round stainless mufflers that aren't quite as bad, especially inside the car! Beautiful car btw, well done!! Other than a 325/50 and tightly tucked cage, the car retains the bench seat, stock interior, trunk, gas tank and looks like a stock-ish show car....definately not on the light side!
