My thoughts are pretty similar, for the price you pay you really can't go wrong with the NECA figure.. They've done such a great job on the sculpt and paint for only £30.. cheaper still if you are in the US.. However, I absolutely love the Mezco 78 Myers, probably one of, if not my favorite 6 inch figures of 2018.. It has great quality throughout and when you start using lighting and shadows in photography the figure really comes to life. If you are a Halloween fan you really need both, but if you are on a budget and not that fussed with halloween then NECA have given you an amazing figure that you really can't go wrong with. NECA as a company just amaze me to be honest, the prices they charge and the quality they produce is just exceptional! A company that really cares for their product and customer alike. They put hasbro and the like to shame. 💖🐱👤🔥🤘
Personally I prefer the moulded plastic clothes. Fabric clothes on figs this scale always seem off to me.
I had the same opinion, but now that I have the figure in hand and especially if you take photos with it, it looks really photorealistic and great tbh, the details are unmatched, but then again, for that price range, I wouldn't expect them not to be

Yeah for the price you can’t beat Neca...but the Mezco is superior (in quality and cost). With Neca I get annoyed by the longer leg syndrome and the breaks people excuse it cause the figure is $25 but I’d rather not have figures break or stand crooked. Don’t get me wrong I have plenty of Neca figs

I have an ok collection so doing unboxing videos nothing close to your style of video but just showing off the figure i own or just got. Anyways am a subscriber plus on this i say both lol i almost had chance to buy the Mezco one but sold out so waiting when they get him again & as for the Neca ver, its good to but i'll pass for now sticking to collecting Predator,Terminator & Godzilla.
I prefer Mezco I’m sorry but neca is just a standing statue not a action figure you can’t make still frame diorama shoots with your limited movement neca figure but if your just gonna set him on a desk and leave it then go for neca I still prefer the ability to put my figures in my own positions to make amazing photos and dioramas with

I have both. The Neca arrived today and it's very good indeed. The mask sculpt is movie accurate, with nice detailing to achieve the aged look. The mask looks all the more creepy because of the weathered and worn aged appearance.
The Mezco, is to me, the definitive 78 version of Myers. The head sculpt is the most identical to the original movie that anyone has done so far. I really like the actual cloth outfit and the fact you get the sheet too. Only downside is the smaller scale.
Gun to my head decision? The Mezco. But I'm very impressed with what Neca did with the 2019 figure.
But hey neca makes for nice accessories packs

I like both figures and each one brings something different to the table. The NECA version is cheaper at $30. It uses molded plastic and it comes a pretty good amount of accessories. The head sculpt looks great. On the other hand, the Mezco version is much more expensive nowadays. I've seen it go for as high as $280 on Ebay. The head sculpt can use some tweaking here and there. It uses fabric for the clothing and it doesn't come with as many accessories as the NECA figure. The 2018 Halloween Michael Myers figure is easy to find, whereas, the Mezco 1978 Halloween Michael Myers figure is a bit hard to come by, but it is out there in limited quantities. I already have the NECA Halloween 2018 Michael Myers, as well as the retro cloth version of the same figure. To be honest, I'm tempted to buy the Mezco 1978 Halloween Michael Myers, even though it is expensive. Otherwise, thanks as always Dean for another great video. I really appreciate the hard work!

I prefer the "NECA" version, myself. I don't like the cloth fabric look of the "Mezco" version.

I don't know I think the mask on the Mezco '78 Myers is pretty good especially compared to what has been made in the past.
I prefer fabric clothing if probably go with the more expensive one I bought one for $30 at the swapmeet I’m not sure the brand but it’s pretty nice quality

Pretty much align with your take as both are really great figs IMO. Something about the Mezco creeps me out a bit more than the NECA so I'd prolly give that one a very slight nod for overall scary look. The NECA is a fantastic value & looks amazing too but IMO the Mezco is ultimately gonna bring more of a return down the road if you're into that sorta thing. Another + for NECA is you're gonna be able to get a Laurie Strode to display along side MM which isn't available in a 6-inch scale to my knowledge. It's crazy it's taken this long to get any Laurie Strode. I'd rather have a young Laurie from the original movie but at this point anything is a plus I guess. Mezco pumpkin gets the nod too as looks better than the NECA (as not crazy bout the heart shape eyes). Thanks for the matchup review as cool to hear your take.

I wouldn’t get one with plastic clothes personally, looks too cheap, like a cheap kids toy.
I think the clothed version is better in my opinion

I love...LOVE the Mezco Myers. Worth every penny IMHO. I also purchased the Neca 2018 Myers (still waiting for it to ship). The price point of the Neca makes it a no brainer but I really dislike the diaper look caused by the all plastic body. Nothing compares to actual cloth. I do wish the Mezco pumpkin was easier to turn on. The "push to light" feature of the Neca pumpkin is great while the Mezco is so annoying to turn on. I have small hands and it's still a PITA to open and flip the switch; so I can't imagine how much more irritating it would be if I had bigger, manly hands. Overall, I love both. But if I became trapped in some hell dimension and could only own one, then I'd go for the Mezco 100%.
BTW will you be buying Neca's 2018 Ultimate Laurie Strode? They revealed the product shots today and she's amazing. I'm definitely buying her.

The new Neca is also stunning and excellent value for money until the value goes up. Just noticed that a Strode figure is in the works. Would like to see a 78 version with alternate heads and accessories, like a knitting needle, clothes hanger, knife...

Mezco is the better than Neca.
Definitely pros and cons to both but I have to go with Mezco on this one. Its all about preference and budget really but I proudly own both (2 of each to be exact! One mint sealed and one to “play” with.) but as a Myers fan I had to get both! Batman and Myers are always priority when collecting for me! Neca NEEDS to release a Ultimate ‘78 but Randy has a stick up his a$$ about it for some reason. (For the record he had said he could easily get the rights to do one but he just isn’t interested🙄.) anyway I’m tardy to the party on this vid but awesome job DK!!
