- Today just before Hurricane Ian hits us, it first brings tornadoes and flooding! The tornadoes are all around us and Evie is out driving in it! Then all the rain from the hurricane is making our backyard flood! And this is just the beginning, next is the high winds, harder rain and more flooding and tornadoes!

I love the hurricane vlogs because # 1 Hearing tornado sirens help me with my fear of loud noises it’s the only way I can expose myself and #2 Two of my second cousins live in Fl one just moved to Florida so watching the vlogs helps me know if they’ll be ok and how bad it is even if it’s not the same for everyone in Florida but it gives me a little hint and experience of what my two cousins are going through it helps reassure me a little bit. Another thing from when my twin was doing work with her church in Apalachicola Fl in 2020 and there was a hurricane coming she told us they always say “East is the Beast Weat is the Best”. which also reassured me .

Thanks for sharing your experience I’m near Orlando and really anxious about the whole thing seeing other people go through it too and not be freaked out like everybody else is helps a little with the anxiety
I live in New Smyrna which is about 15 miles south of Daytona Beach and we got hit very bad with over 2 feet of rain and in some places got about 3 feet and we had massive flooding here because we ended up getting the northeast section of Ian. I never seen these videos before but driving in a hurricane with tornado warnings isn’t wise at all. Thankfully for them Ian wasn’t as bad as it was here in NSB. Had several fatalities here as well. We had probably cat 3 winds and so much rain. Our street was a river and our ponds were lakes. Many here are still trying to recover from the major floods. Some homes got up to 5 feet of water.

I had a storm kinda like this last night, I was horrified, because I’m deeply scared of storms for whatever reason. I just couldn’t imagine what it would’ve been like in a tornado or a hurricane, so please stay safe!

South West Floridian here from Manatee County :) was so glad Ian didn’t destroy my home town. I’m 20 with disabilities and have never lived anywhere else ever, and I have been ill and dropping weight for the past year so there is no way I would’ve survived. I’m glad we all are still here
Okay I’m sorry, but the amount of times I screamed to the screen “GET INSIDE” and “GET AWAY FROM THE GLASS” is too many for me to even count. Also the patio furniture being left outside was a MAJOR hazard to not only your house but your neighbors as well with strong winds when debris is flying. You guys were NO WHERE NEAR PREPARED😭 I am so glad you all are okay, if the tornado hit you directly I don’t know what would’ve happened…

Just like a genuine question how come you guys didn’t empty your pool that way when the flooding hits it fills up the pool instead of your house?
we drop ours about 6-8 inches, too...depends on the forecast and sometimes we'll have to keep dropping the water in the middle of the storms.

Hi. I am glad you all are safe. I am in Sebastian and the wind is really whipping tonight for hours. Of course they had said Ian was 70 miles from Orlando earlier. I am 97 miles from Orlando. We are under a Tropical Storm Warning, Tornado watch and a flood warning. Wed morning we had a tornadoe touch down about 10 mins from us. Our phones were going off like crazy. When we had 2 hurricanes come 3 weeks apart. I lived off of Hypoluxo. We lost power for over a month! Stores hardly had any food for sale. You could only pay with cash. Please in the future don't stock up for 3 days like the news tells you to! Be prepared if you lose power for a longer period! You never know what is going to happen. Stay safe and I love watching your channel!

Try to conserve power the best you can. Stay safe out there! We've been hit many times by tropical storms and hurricanes up here in Rhode Island. I remember that we had no power for 5 days one time. Luckily our neighbors behind us threw over an extension cord for us to be able to use our refrigerator and oven. You're lucky that you don't get bad snowstorms and blizzards in Florida. We have them a lot and we got lucky with the one that hit us last year. We got almost 2 feet of snow, but luckily it was the drier kind of snow, which didn't knock out our power. Praying for all of you guys in Florida. I have friends that live there as well and are also in its path.
