Good analysis but I've seen these videos hyping up United like its some tactical masterclass by Ten Hag. United had moments largely through route 1 football and long balls against a team that had a match on Thursday and took off 4 of their starters. The last 2 goals were HUGE individual errors by Liverpool players.
Even with a Liverpool performance levels below their usual standard, they were cutting United open time after time and should have had another 3-4 goals with 5v2s, 4v2s being wasted over and over. It was individual moments of brilliance coupled with massive amounts of luck and not this managerial masterclass like its being painted.

Klopp withdrew both Salah and Diaz. Even though he still had Nunez and Gakpo on the pitch, the threat from the wings (when their full backs were pushed back) was heavily reduced. Liverpool wasted time throughout the second half, and they were punished for it. Their goalkeeper even got booked doing it. Nonetheless a spirited United performance and I’m especially pleased for the likes of Antony and Amad who did the business when called upon.

This is why, as an avid hater of Liverpool, I hate the narrative that is being painted like Ten Hag somehow outclassed and outmanaged Klopp. Liverpool had the game won, wasted numerous golden opportunities and pretty much threw it away with individual errors. Even after taking Salah and Diaz off, all United had was long balls until Nunez decided to give it away.

@Atlantis Football I said a couple of months ago to do a video on whether Manchester united should sign Joshua Zirkzee from bologna or Tel from Bayern. But I personally prefer Zirkzee cause he has every attribute that a striker needs. Dribbling, eye for a pass to a teammate, link up play, can hold up play when necessary, and isn't selfish. Who love if you did a video on which one to sign out of the two of them.

They worked out Diallo's move in rugby league a long time ago. A defender moves out towards a wing from a central position, the forward sees this and vectors his run in to meet the defender forcing him to check his speed and/or stop. The attacker at speed then jinks to the outside of the (almost) stationary defender. Easy.

No it’s not. That’s nothing to do with it. Rashford and Bruno aren’t the reason there’s a massive gap in the pressing shape. That’s down to Ten Hag having a front 6 that press aggressively without the structure behind them.
Bruno can easily play in a possession system, he’s forced to play quick transitional passes because that’s the style Ten Hag has set the side up

Agree re Bruno. I don't understand the Bruno hate. The donut in the midfield reflects set up but also personnel. ETH has been trying to get defenders who can play a high line both of his summer transfer windows but we saw last window how hard it is because of high wage/ffp poison pills, the range of other positional problems and, perhaps, the difficulty of getting the right players when other clubs look to be better environments for you to improve as a player. @@AtlantisFootball

Garnachos pass was tired and underhit. Understandable after 120+ mins and a 70 yard sprint. How Amad created that little bit of extra space to get his shot off was fantastic. Great analysis.

Forcing Liverpool to go for long balls from the back with more man to man marking in midfield, helped make exceptional use of Harry Maguire's aerial ball winning, instead of exposing his lack of speed and allowed us to win it back in the midfield more consistently.
