My husband (who rowed crew for Navy in the early ‘80’s) & I read this book together on long car trips. It was his 2nd time, my 1st. To say it was a riveting and inspiring account of Joe, his teammates, their amazing accomplishments, and that time in history is an understatement. I read the Epilogue & Author’s notes to my husband on Sunday while he drove. It was very emotional for me and I had to stop at one point so I could pull it together. The book is so well written- a beautiful tribute and work of art. Kudos to Daniel J. Brown. The movie couldn’t (and didn’t) do it justice.
