    This is one of our favourites. Small footprint, portable, quick, and easy to teach and learn.

    Very good as always. For those who are looking for an asymetric / special ability feeling like, there is the command deck expansion which gives you an special starter deck and 2 main colors (out of 4) to build upon.
    Although those are more powerfull starter deck, which means the boss fights which are already way too fast will probably last sooner, so... not a very good pick

    Thanks for sharing. I knew about Star Realms, but didn't know about Frontiers.
    I have the basic Star Realms app (have the physical game too) and it is my favorite app. Mainly because it is so quick. It makes for a great filler when I have 10 minutes or so of waiting, etc. Yes, the game is basic and doesn't have a lot of depth, complex deck building, etc. But, I don't want that all the time. Star Realms scratches a specific itch (you know that one in the center of your back that is difficult to reach), but it does so perfectly (ahh, that's right, in that specific spot). He He

      @OneStopCoopShop  4 года назад

      Tony, if you've played the app, then you've seen some of what Frontiers has to offer, because I think several of the challenges are ported straight from the app (or maybe vice versa).
      It's definitely a fun, quick package.

    Great stuff Mike. I remember a version of this being Kickstarted recently and I was so tempted but had just pledged for Apex and didn't want to go into deck building overload. Have you played Apex? If so, how would you compare the two? (I haven't played either but went with Apex because of dinosaurs.)

    • @OneStopCoopShop

      Colin played Apex, and covered it on the channel. I haven't had the opportunity.

    I just got this box a few days ago and ive been enjoying it thoroughly. Great for what it is, a small and fast game. I agree that it feels short in most scenarios, do you have a recommendation for a deck builder that is a bit more advanced and lets you build your engine more and enjoy it more as well. I think that makes sense, not sure i can word it better -.-

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  3 года назад +1

      For solo/co-op play my top one right now is Heroes of Tenefyr, and with the expansion that one has a legendary mode that lets you deckbuild further and really get something fun going. Though it's not your typical "engine" deckbuilder, so might not fit your question.
      Aeon's End is always a popular one for solo/co-op as well, though I also think the engine building there isn't fantastic. I actually think it's better in Star Realms in many ways with the color combos.

    • @AltarenGalil
      @AltarenGalil 3 года назад

      @@OneStopCoopShop Thanks for the suggestion, Heroes of Tenefyr looks interesting but unfortunatelly it doesnt seem available anywhere near me. Im definitely adding it to my list of games to keep an eye out for though. For some reason i dont see myself drawn towards Aeon's End although with all the suggestions i will probably give in at some point and most likely find it a lot of fun. Thanks again :)

    I agree with you. I tried solo play with the basic star realm and found the boss (fan-made) to stack up their attack point extremely quick. I actually do not like the game does not have its dedicated deck for the boss. As a result, the boss attack feels very contrived and have a very limited variety. I also found myself do not have enough turns to deck-build. If money is not a concern I actually will not recommend it.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  3 года назад +1

      I enjoyed it more than you, but you are right that it is a simplistic AI. The Hero Realms one might appeal to you better, since it has a dedicated deck (though it still builds up quickly).

    • @CK-mi3sd
      @CK-mi3sd 3 года назад +1

      Yes, but if I need to pay $100 to get the entire experience, won't it better to get Marvel Champion and the Skull expansion? Hero Realm, though interesting to me, is too expansion to play coop/solo.
      BTW, new Wingspan has more complicated mechanism and coop play.

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  3 года назад

      @@CK-mi3sd oh, for sure, or Aeons End or Battle for Greyport or any of those :)
      And wait... co-op Wingspan? That is HIGHLY interesting, since my son really enjoys it.

    Hey Michael! I'm a relatively new viewer but love your stuff! I want to get into solo boards, nothing too complex off the start. But I don't want a child's game either. I love star wars(so maybe outer rims?) I also enjoy fantasy themes as well though. I'm just looking for the best first time experience. Thank you so much for your content and time!

    • @OneStopCoopShop
      @OneStopCoopShop  4 года назад +1

      Outer Rims was decent, though an expansion would make it better (and so far there is no sign that one is coming). You can check my playthrough and review to see it in action.
      Are you looking for an adventure game with a bit of a story? A strategy game with tough choices? Lots of dice? No dice?

    • @OnlyTakeMoney
      @OnlyTakeMoney 4 года назад +1

      @@OneStopCoopShop I've watched your videos on outer rim haha. Im not so sure, I'd probably be interested in a story game, one that's replayable for different outcomes even? I don't mind dice either
