I am 52 years old and have been a sci-fi fan for as long as I can remember. Both in screen and book. This is one of the most evocative stories I have ever experienced. Thank you for sharing. Much respect.
You are so kind. Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!!!
It is a testament to our impending future, whether hope or destruction hangs in the balance.
Stumbled onto this and am hooked! Am 70 and not sure how AI generation of this content works, but love it AND the story line. Keep it up Joe! You are Master Storyteller!!
Wow, thanks so much for giving such a positive response. I appreciate it!
I’m 76 and have always loved si fi. This is a really wonderful story. Please do more.
Thanks very much for your kind words and encouragement. It means a lot to me
Man, this should be a series or a book…!!!
Excellent story ….👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
Thanks!! I really appreciate the encouragement
Keep this going, its a great story so far.
Thanks, will do!
Found you by accident and a lovely one at that.
Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the film!
The "uncanny valley" distortions of the A.I movement in these images serve to actually enhance the experience, rather than detract from it. I'm really enjoying these.
Thanks!!!
Man this is like a new art form.. keep it up.
Appreciate it!!!
I am hooked on this series, Bravo, very immersive story....! The orchids with irises, clever quip, but ever so stunning.... 😊
Being naive about flower names I didn't even think of the corollary between eye irises and flower irises -- thanks for pointing that out!!
I remember the mouse used to grow an "ear" on its back. From Wikipedia:
The Vacanti mouse was a laboratory mouse (circa 1996) that had what looked like a human ear grown on its back. The "ear" was actually an ear-shaped cartilage structure grown by seeding cow cartilage cells into biodegradable ear-shaped mold and then implanted under the skin of the mouse, with an external ear-shaped splint to maintain the desired shape. Then the cartilage naturally grew by itself within the restricted shape and size. The splint was removed briefly to take the publicity pictures, which is very controversial.
It's great that you understood the reference. I didn't know if viewers would make the connection.
@@joemeiser Oh it hit me _immediately!!_ because, even to this day I feel conflicted about the ethics of that experiment. Btw I love the storyline, sad as it is, it's about our inner humanity. If I have empathy for even mice, such as the Vacanti mouse with its built-in artificiality, I'd certainly feel for artificial beings that end up in the garbage!
Is that what you were conveying through that mouse?
Thanks! I don't want to give away too much detail about the symbolism with the mouse, because I think it could shut down viewers’ ability to interpret the film in different ways. But I can say that I chose to include it while thinking about Donna haraway's ideas about “inter-subjectivity”, what it means for something to be “synthetic” or “organic”, and the way that humans create technological constructs in our own form. There may eventually come a time when advanced AI will create humans or human-like creatures to satisfy its own agenda. I hope that's not too obscure an answer.
@@joemeiser Obscurity in some measure is good because you wanted different viewers to interpret the film in different ways. I already had my own ideas based on the previous film as well as this. The mouse added... Something deeper, I can't really explain but that's okay. This is one story that's going to stay with me for a very long time.
@@727Phoenix Your input on this site is well said, as I am new to this as of yesterday. The mouse just seemed to bring a more "alive" depth for me. Empathy.
Incredible. Just found this site yesterday (4/34/2024) on my tv, and fascinated. So I subscribed even though I am the least bit tech savvy or AI fluent. I had to look up Mr. Meiser's home page and his art is extraordinary. I'm elderly, not eagerly awaiting AI to take over, but the humanity I saw in this video, the faces, just intrigued me, so I will watch all this series of videos. Mr. Meiser should be given funds to produce, make and direct a full-length film with human actors, but AI creations like in this video. It's engaging, unnervingly human, poetic and just beautiful ! TY Mr. Meiser ! ✌🏼✌🏼
Wow, thanks so much for sharing such an enthusiastic and kind comment about my work!!! I really appreciate it. I started a new video in the series today, and with any luck I should be able to release it within a week or two, so please stay tuned :)
@@joemeiser I sure will stay tuned. TY
I am 92y old and allways have been a huge sci-fi lover.
I have seen and read sci-fi in my life but this video is the best I ever saw!!
I am so gratefull at my age to may have seen this
I have only just found your videos - so haunting and melancholy.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I'm excited to continue to explore the possibilities in this medium
Wow , great follow up and continuation of the story.. Though some of the action shots look a little disjointed overall visuals are beautifully stunning... Eagerly watching out for more of this story. Thank you . you've created something special., leaving the audience wanting more . Majik
I really appreciate your generous comment. Thanks a lot
Замечательная фантастика это должна быть книга. Автор продолжайте у вас отлично получается.👍👍👍👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏🌎🌏🌍
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!!
Absolutly brilliant. Stunning graphics and a great story line, I just want to see more please. Thank you.
Thanks. I really appreciate the kind words. I'll consider making a related story
@@joemeiser You'd have me and others if you had an online story, movie going with this story continuing. Seems to have endless story lines. I'd even pay, like going to a movie. Not that this was your intent, just mentioning it'
s worthiness.
Awesome contacts please keep on with the storyline and having a discussion online about AI so next step is Androids somebody’s gotta care for them… The story has a real depth to it, enjoying it greatly
Thanks for the kind words
Unfortunately, maybe not everyone would even care if they were still cared for. I would.
The AI needs improvement (hands are a mess at times), but the story is amazing, and the models are beautiful, This needs to be made into a real movie.
Thanks for the kind words. The hands can definitely be a bit dodgy at times
Your work is very awesome! I'm loving this storyline. I can't wait to see more! Thanks for sharing this beautiful work!
Thank you so much!
I liked this. It's a good story. Everything evolves. Who can remember the Sinclair ZX, the C64, the Amiga, right up to the PC? AI will also evolve, but we still need good stories.
While I don't remember those particular devices, it is mind blowing to consider how much evolution there has been in PCs and cell phones in my lifetime. If we see the same degree of change in AI over the next decades the world will be strikingly different
Don't forget the Vic-20....! 😀
more please this is awesome
Thank you! I'm working on a related video right now.
Bril!. Love the concept and the imagry!. Nuff said. 🙂
Thanks very much!
Well, it's all AI, but the voiceover gave it some context and some humanity, and some storyline. It was actually pretty well done.
Thanks! AI is opening up a lot of new possibilities for storytelling. But it's definitely not easy or automatic. This project took two weeks of focused work to complete.
This is a pretty good attempt at getting an AI to generate a short movie.
Thank you! I used AI to make the images and videos, but had to write the story myself. I haven't yet managed to get a story I find convincing enough from LLMs -- maybe I just need to get better with my prompts
I would be happy to have some of your droids live here with me! ☺️
Maybe one day!
"They don't make them like they used to" seems to be speeding up. We have been programmed to discard as opposed to proper care to extend the life of the object.
That's very true, both in terms of the designed obsolescence of objects, and our societal tendency to throw things away very quickly.
SIMPLY STUNNING! BRAVO!
Thank you so much!
This is great work! Thank you 😊
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Admittedly, I'm a bit slow in digesting things. It'll take a few extra views to get a handle on what's happening. There are subtle details that come out with each viewing. Still, the story is quite intriguing.
Thank you!
@@joemeiserI've been reading some of the other comments, and this seems to be helping me better grasp some things. I just hope the old caretaker gets to keep his job.
@@fredbickham5137 Yes, there have been many insightful comments in this thread. Surviving Diana is a good first step in the caretaker keeping his job.
Outstanding Art, very soon this will work as expected in every frame render.
Thanks! I agree that methods of AI video generation ought to be quite a bit better within the next few years
Very cool! The voice synthesis is really impressive.
Hi Ben, thanks!!!
I'm liking this series. There's a great book in here.
Thanks!
You may be right that such dumps are unlikely to exist in the future. I just thought it was an interesting premise for a story that explores liminality, destruction, obsolescence etc. Thanks for watching
Thank you for giving us more of Caretaker and Jenny! I can't wait for the next episode!
Thanks for your enthusiasm. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Touche to you. Awesome.

Excellent once again!
Thanks again!!!
Amazing work
This is a quite lovely series. Very unique! I'll look forward to the next instalment.

Very nice addition. Thanks Joe 77❤

Astounding!

Wow, just WOW!❤

Absolute genius.
..... it's like a continuation of AI , without the Alien ending.....❤
I need to see that movie!
This is a series ??
Awesome 👌 👏 👍 😍
Thanks!!!! I'm working on a new related video right now

Awesome lo to see more 😮
Thanks!! I'm working on a related video now. Please stay tuned :)
It’s like reading the short Robot stories from Isac Asimov again for the first time
Thanks for making that connection!! I will make a point of reading Asimov's Robot stories.
Are these videos in a series? This video seems to have ended before the story was complete.
Yes, a prequel is already posted on my channel and I'm working on another related video now
All I can say is "WOW".
Thank you so much
I imagine its alot of work to do this. But you should make a movie. I would pay to see it.
@@bertgriffin3624 Thanks for the encouragement!

Rust never sleeps , Devo
Are you referring to a song by the band Devo called Rust Never Sleeps? Or to the idea of relentless change and the need for continual innovation and adaptation?
@@joemeiser during a jam session with Devo ,Neil Young overhead one of the Bob's say rust never sleeps . It inspired him to write the song . I was comparing this idea to the distinct possibility that as artificial intelligence becomes sentient it will very probably develop the ability to self repair , then even evolve through the creation of superior design and give mentality
It's hard to picture Neil Young jamming with Devo. You have piqued my curiosity. I'll see what I can find on RUclips. Indeed- rust never sleeps

Wow, that is very unlike Neil Young's other music. I'm not quite sure what to make of it :)
love this series
Thanks for watching :)
Dunno what the ending was, but the first half hits like a truck.

What's the name of this movie???
It is a short film only, that I created. Does it remind you of a movie you've seen?

This is the reason for the kill-switch to destroy the BIOS and CPU when androids aren't required anymore so that they can be sent to the mill for recycling guilt free.
You may be right about this... And/or there's the idea of uploading their consciousness and providing a virtual retirement
Cpu doesn't work without a Bios.
