What a ghastly year 2016 was. We lost musical giants (Bowie, Prince, Leonard Cohen, George Michael), actors we loved (Alan Rickman, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds), comic geniuses (Victoria Wood, Caroline Ahern). I also lost my dear Dad, but at least he lived to 91. Debbie Reynolds was 84. All the others left us far too soon.

I've only just got the news she had sadly passed 4 years ago. The fast show was the first proper comedy i ever saw, I was around 10 years old and remember watching with my dad, both of us in stitches, my Dad also sadly passed away in 2015, watching her reminds me of the good times,❤

Watching the Royle family tonight as I do whenever it is on. I truly loved this lady such an amazing talent and incredibly funny too. I remember watching her in an interview with Frank Skinner and thinking at the time how beautiful she was. Really do miss her Rip Caroline Aherne xxx.
A funny girl from Manchester who took hum-drum things and turned it into comedy ...that's what she did well. In these passing years we have missed her ... what I liked about her (apart from her comedy), was her honesty about herself and her common touch We have had many comic entertainers from The North West ... I can't believe I'm saying this, but Mrs Merton got on my nerves. I saw her as a mean-spirited person picking on people who were too polite to tell her to stuff it.
So many people are in denial about smoking and cancer especially lung cancer, I know people who don't smoke get cancer but you really up the ante when you do, I shall watch the Christmas special this year the one in the clip with the Turkey and feel happy and sad.
RIP such a nice lady🌷very good at her comedy🌹 I have a lump on my right lung don't know as yet what it is. Waiting for another scan in December. Had problems with both lungs and my heart. I was OK last year then all comes at once.
smoking doesn't cause cancer it's contributes. People can chain smoke all their lives and get nothing, some people can be the biggest health freaks out and die riddle with it at 30. My guess, since she had it so often she knew it was going to get her in the end and denied herself nothing.

I was born in a working class family in Manchester. I knew all the people Caroline brought to life in her work. She did it brilliantly. RIP.

My gran smoked from the age of 12 and died at 92 - you die when your already death time is marked on your path of life, go when meant to.
