ChromeOS is a Linux-based operating system designed by Google. It is a very lightweight operating system, which can easily run on older Windows PCs and laptops. It is better, if you provide " ready to play chrome os image", wheter for intel 6 or older and for previous processor.
So we can simply run rufus and this images to flash disk.
May you can place ready chrome os images at google drive.

When i boot with usb am stuck with black screen with flashing prompt
4th gen i3. It did the brunch part, then it just gets stuck on the white chromeos logo. Been there for an hour.

1 small point on disk selection, sda is not same for all it is only for hard drive
if laptop has emmc, then the disk name will be starting with mmcXXX

RootFS successfully rebuilt, got to the chromeOS logo and it's stuck there for past half an hour. didn't have any hiccups until now. will let you know if it works all the way.
After another hour of wait with the chromeos logo (which eventually turned black), i took another usb, used another port and its been going on for another twenty minutes now😢 don’t know what the issue is. I already had chromeos flex installed.
Have been trying to install the ramus pack (the first one that shows in the image link, other than the flip one). My laptop model is Asus E202s. As far as i know this has a 4th gen intel celeron chipset.

as a tech person honest personal experience its a biggest piece of crap , its extremely restricted lacks tones of features only good for internet and browser only task but why , when you can get alternatives that are full fledged operating systems with actual desktop features and compatibility and even more lightweight , you have linux , i used chrome os on a old machine , ubuntu a bloated crap runs better , the linux development environment is joke compatibility issues , the playstore on that things many important you never get , this is only good for school computers for kids below 10 , g meet and conference ,
anti linux people for you guys its hard to them , i tried android x86 takes less ram , less space than chrome os runs faster , the playstore there has far more app compatibility , takes 1GB max ram most times, can do much more than chrom os .
my personal pick uninstall that chrome thing and install fedora easy to use lighter than chrome os , more app compatibility and proper desktop experience.

awesome I install this on the Surface GO 1 - 2018 edition and it works!!! I did have to use a windows 10 usb setup to delete partitions after I deleted partitions without formatting the drive. I then exited windows 10 setup and then swap back to chrome os usb and then I follow your instructions and it install perfectly.
you could have used rufus and select the non-bootable option and it would have deleted all the partitions quick and easy
I have 13GB free space, but sudo bash reported Not enough space to create image file. In chromeos folder there's about 5GB files.
Will be the chromeos image file larger than 13GB?

A note for the community
Branch, per their documentation, only supports Intel CPUs from 8th Gen / Celeron CPUs from Goldmont and AMD Ryzen. It will not work on an intel older than 8th gen.

No, chrome os is not made by microsoft (windows xp, vista, 7, 8, 10 etc. Publisher) chrome os is made by google so you cant get it from the settings because why does microsoft wants to support google if they doesnt recommend you using chrome browser 😂

It doesn't works on older Macbook Pro models yet, there are still issues with wi-fi - 5GHz, tuchpad, bluetooth, keyboard backlights etc... Same thing with Fyde OS 18! Perhaps some time in future !?

That was straight forward!
I didn't have windows so I skipped the first part and went directly for the ISO and then created the bootable usb, just use a fast USB or the first boot will take a very long time (I used an old USB and it took more than 5 hours, then turned off and switched to a faster USB and took 10 mins lmao).

It has Play Store that gives a lot but still needs to have some native apps like some office and more. Maybe in future versions.
