    The "sail over power driven" thing bugs me too. The way I think of it is less of a which type boat has right of way, but more simply, who is less maneuverable.

      I use, who gets crushed and sunk by who?
      If he’s taller than my mast, I’m giving a wide berth.

      Well if you are sailing near a shipping channel on a 30 foot sailboat but you want to cross that shipping channel. It’s best to wait for that 300 meter container ship going 10 knots that’s a mile away To pass by

      @@edl617 exactly. Don’t get caught up in the specifics of the rules. Look at the situation as it has presented itself, and use good judgement to keep everyone safe. Calls to mind that old saying: The superior pilot uses their superior judgement to avoid having to use their superior skill.
